Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nore Salman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Nore, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
My dad’s visa to the U.S was based on extraordinary scientific ability since he’s published in the encyclopedia of plant-genetics. My parents are Middle- Eastern academicians who completed their PhD’s in the U.S. Their devotion to the sciences inspired me to succeed; yet the Middle-Eastern community’s conservative nature challenged my identity as a Middle- Eastern woman. Such experiences have rewarded me with the tenacity to develop my own frame of identity, but also to choose a profession that encourages others to explore themselves with greater clarity and develop the skills necessary to accomplish and meet their own needs and goals.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I help leaders increase their awareness & emotional IQ for a more authentic and purposeful sense of self therefore, leadership. We grow through consciousness, the first step is always awareness. There are many scientifically proven methods to enhance awareness, intuition, and purpose. I help clients tap into that and gain greater clarity into their purpose. Through practice of purpose alignment & value-based decision making a clearer sense of identify and service arrives.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I grew up in a high achieving family. The pressure often translated to shame that I put on myself. The reason I had to unlearn it is because it is not possible to reach my purpose through shaming myself. I had to learn to love myself to begin the process of confidence building. It was a process we call parenting our inner-child. We heal shame and we become more familiar with our vulnerability. That process of getting to know, loving, and nurturing ourselves allows us to be more emotionally connected to our inner experience. That emotional connection translates to better connections with others. When high achievers are able to develop an emotional IQ, you watch businesses grow, lives transform, happier and more purposeful goals are set. Essentially the process of intentionally unlearning what we are not paradoxically allows us to become who we actually are, leaders in our lives and communities.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
What is most helpful in staying successful as a leadership coach is continuing my own development in service as a coach and entrepreneur by continuing to make decisions that align with my values. Every good leader has a clear set of values that help ground and clarity direction when ascending or failures can alter our ego or mood. Values helps us stay out of ego and remain in service. Through being in service we can stay heart-centered and grounded in our purpose.
