We recently connected with Waitk Aleem and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Waitk thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Your ability to build a team is often a key determinant of your success as a business owner and so we’d love to get a conversation going with successful entrepreneurs like yourself around what your recruiting process was like -especially early on. How did you build your team?
My business didn’t start with employees. It was only me and I was managing my first artist which was my son. I wasn’t making any money and expenses were through the roof. Over time bumping my head and spending money in the wrong areas without getting anywhere made me have to really think of how we were going to survive. I thought it would be good if we put together a team and prioritize what needed to be done to move forward. the team consisted of the producer, my artist (my son), and myself. Everyone had the area of expertise they brought to the table and contributed to the small success we have accomplished to date. If I had the chance to do it over I would have put togather the team first which would allow you to work together on how to move forward and share ideas which form each persons knowledge helps devise a solid plan.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Does your business have multiple or supplementary revenue streams (like a ATM machine at a barbershop, etc)?
Funding is always a concern and having multiple income stream help in our effort to support our mission. I have joined a veteran owned business called Jadapay which sales Point Of Sales systems to businesses who offer credit card processing. The residuals earned help to fund the work we at WA Management Services provide to WarriorNOW by given a portion of our residual to them.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
We stay connected with our clients through state contracts we have with the courts and by networking with other organizations in the community that serve veterans.
