Alejandra, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?

As an esthetician there are so many routes that one can take to specialize in a certain service or modality. Since I was in the esthetics program I always wanted to learn a little bit of everything because I was always so fascinated by all the services one can provide like waxing, lashes, makeup, etc. However my ultimate love was and still is skincare. Even before even having an interest in the program I always loved trying and learning about new products and ingredients out on the market. The thought of being able to create a change in the skin or improving it was always so amusing and exciting to me even as a consumer with minimal knowledge to what these products or ingredients sole purpose was.

Now what has truly changed is that my love for skincare has now evolved into a passion. I always strive to learn more about how to treat different skin concerns and the importance of using professional grade products with high quality active ingredients in which has been the epitome of my career and how I approach treatment or product recommendations to a client. What I have discovered is that the best way to help someone is to educate and communicate as much as you can all while you are still striving to learn even more that way you can continue to grow your knowledge and experience.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I always strive to provide the best services for my clients by utilizing the highest quality of products and modalities. I provide an abundance of services like waxing, lashes, makeup, facials, dermaplaning, and chemical peels in which I do the best to my ability each time. I pride myself in making sure each client is comfortable as well as being provided impecable customer service and care whether it be in English or in Spanish. I hold myself accountable to make sure I stay up to date with the latest technologies and modalities that I can provide within my scope by furthering my knowledge with continuing education which is what lead me to obtain a secondary license in Nevada.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?

I believe that in order to succeed in this field you have to be open to continue to be a lifelong leaner. Continuing education is key in establishing a reputable and confident business.

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?

I would’ve definitely stayed in the same type of field but in a different direction. If anything I would’ve most likely pursue a medical based aesthetics profession such as either a plastic surgeon or dermatologist. The ability to change someone’s skin and build their confidence has always been what fills my cup.
