We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jackk The Ripper a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jackk, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Well I started out Acting when I was six years old. I’ve been got into music around 11 to 12 years old and that’s when I knew I wanted a career in the entertainment industry. I started to learn how to play the alto saxophone around 12 to 13 and ever since then, I fell in love with the performing arts.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I got into acting by auditioning for local school plays in elementary school. I always was an energetic kid, and I loved being silly and pretending to be other people. I’ve became really good at impressions from a young age and ever since then it just stuck with me. I started rapping with my brothers when we used to watch a show called 106 and park and they would do a segment called freestyle Fridays so me and my brothers would freestyle every Friday and I eventually became a big fan of rapping. What sets me apart from other people is that I never give up and I’m always determined to get to the next level in life. I’m very headstrong, a little stubborn, and I feel as though I have what it takes to make it which is endurance, persistence, and consistency.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One winter I needed a car very very bad and I was tired of getting on the bus. I saved up $2000 for a down payment on a car and then I went broke for a month straight and gave another 2K to pay my car in full so I wouldn’t have to have a car note.. That show me that if I can do that I can do anything because I literally did not eat. I couldn’t, buy things, couldn’t buy food, couldn’t buy necessities that I needed for a day-to-day basis, all because I wanted my car and I’ll three years later I still have that same car and I haven’t had a car note.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
It’s not much of a story I just stay consistent. I didn’t have a lot of followers, but I didn’t know people and the more consistent I was with my craft the more of an audience I got. My advice to those starting off, always be consistent and make different kinds of content. We live in an era now where everything is becoming oversaturated and people’s attention spans are not like they used to be so you have to not only be consistent but you have to constantly make content that is going to keep your followers engaged whether it’s music, comedy, dancing anything
