We recently connected with Brooke Deaton and have shared our conversation below.
Brooke, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
It can be very scary and intimidating starting your own business but so worth it in the end. God has shown up in so many ways, and all the credit goes to Him. One of the major things i love about it, is all the people i have come to know and the relationships i have built with each one. If it weren’t for them we definately wouldn’t be where we are at now. Cheers to sippin’!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hey there! My name is Brooke Deaton and I am the owner and founder of SIP COFFEE CO. As a lover of lattes and all things JESUS it has been a dream of mine to have a coffee business of my own. After working a couple years at a local coffee shop, I decided to start out on my own using a small mobile car to add coffee to events. Birthday parties, weddings, bridal showers, and more! Over time the idea of having a camper to serve coffee out of slowly became a reality and I can’t believe we made it to a dream that really came true. So many doors have been opened and truly believe they are from the Lord. All glory is due to Him. People and community, relationships and small town feels is something i truly love and this has been such an amazing avenue to accomplish that. One of our favorite things to do at SIP, besides make coffee, is get to know you! Its more than just the coffee we serve but the relationships that are made! Our mission and goal is to serve and spread His love through each cup of coffee we make. Come out and hang out at our outdoor seating options or our window seat is always open for friends! We value our customers and truly can’t wait to make you a latte. Located on 102 N Miami Street in West Milton, OH you can find us serving coffee wednesday – saturday from 6:30 – 2 and 8 – 2 on saturdays!

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
I would say the biggest thing for me across the board is to just invest in your customers. Treat them exceptionally, take time for them, and make them the best. It can be easy to fall into a rushed feel especially when your are the only barista and have a line, but i have learned that people will wait. its part of the whole coffee shop experience! Go above and beyond, people will remember that about you.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I heard one time “the most consistent thing about coffee is its inconsistency.” And its so true. The days that you think will be so busy are sometimes slow, and when you least expect it you have a line. So just hanging in there and being consistent no matter if you meet your daily goals is important!
