Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I manage my own social media. I am on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok and You Tube.

After I closed my restaurant in 2014, I started writing down a lot of my family recipes that I had been cataloging in my mind since childhood and working to perfect over my lifetime. And in 2020, right after the lockdown got going, I began sharing them on Instagram when a group of my girlfriends and I started our profile page, Miciamammas.
This was an outlet during a really tough time. I set out to show people that they could cook amazing meals for their family. Sharing these recipes has brought me comfort and taken me back to my childhood.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

After being in the restaurant business for a long time, I opened my own restaurant: a seven-day breakfast, lunch and dinner operation in 2012. Unfortunately, it became overwhelming. I wasn’t seeing my family at all. Rather than have my then-fiancé raise my three kids and his two on his own, I decided to close the restaurant. I married my now-husband, Peter, in 2014 in Montalcino, Italy. I’ve been home with my children ever since then.This was the best decision I ever made. I had been working so much that I missed spending time with them. I was happy to be home but I was craving doing something on my own. Thats when I started my social media platform.

How did you build your audience on social media?

I think social media can be hard. Especially these days when the algorithms can be so hard to crack. I think the best thing to do is to be consistent and not to give up.
