We were lucky to catch up with Kelly Mccoy recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kelly, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We love asking folks what they would do differently if they were starting today – how they would speed up the process, etc. We’d love to hear how you would set everything up if you were to start from step 1 today
One great thing about life is experience. Knowing what I know now, there are definitely a few things I’d do differently if I were starting fresh today. First, I’d invest in a company to help build a website, focus on SEO and get really clear on my vision and goals for my company. Second, I’d specialize in one area and master my craft. Third, I’d start a waitlist and hire out for my overflow and spend more time working ON my business instead is IN.

Kelly, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For those who don’t know me, I specialize in results driven skincare treatments and natural microblading. My journey in the esthetic industry started with my own skin & brow struggles. I developed melasma when I was pregnant with my son and became obsessed with skincare. I also noticed my brows getting thinner throughout the years. Microblading has come such a long way and I finally decided to invest in a series of trainings. My focus for face first beauty is enhancing your own natural beauty, whatever that might mean to you!

How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media is tough. It can feel like you’re committing so much time and effort with little to no return. My best advice for social media and growing your audience is to know who you want your ideal audience or client to be and speak to that person. Spend time educating that client, show your work, show yourself so they can get to know you & most of all stay consistent!

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Every business is different, but personally I’ve found the best source is attracting new clients is referrals. Treat your current clients like gold and they’ll tell their friends & family about you. I personally offer a discount for referrals to incentivize you to tell everyone. Referrals make the best clients!
