Angela “Dcor Chic”, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Consistent marketing efforts to build awareness and interest about your business is one of the most important things required to ignite the desire for clients to hire you. It is important to understand that not everyone will need a home stylist or property stager right away. They may be preparing for tne next year. Therefore. every bit of marketing you do now is influencing not only present day sales, but also sales in the future.
It is also imperative that you recognize potential clients will be judging you by the image they have of you and your business. If you’re not committed to investing in yourself or your own business, why would they take a chance to trust you with their own single largest investment?
Lastly, the way you look can not only change the way you feel about yourself, it can change the way people perceive you. Dressing business chic makes you feel good and allows you to project a high level of confidence.
At the end of the day, success is a result of building trust and maintaining relationships.

My name is Angela “Dcor Chic” Young. I am a graduate of Virginia Marti College of Fashion & Art Design, where I studied Fashion Merchandising and Interior Design. My love for for styling homes and passion for great design led me to officially launch Interior Reflections by Ange, LLC in 2019.
My approach to interior styling is completely client-focused. Whether you are looking to totally revamp your space or simply sync new pieces with your existing furnishings; my client’s vision is completely carried through. This, along with my unique sense of design exemplified in the beautiful yet functional spaces that I create and my outstanding customer service are a few reasons why I am a popular Interior Decorator in Northeast Ohio.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Social media has been a huge conduit in building my brand and reputation. I not only post consistently, but I am engaged in various groups on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tik Tok and Twitter. This way, I have the opportunity to connect with people on a 1″1 basis, allowing me to be considered an expert in my area of business. Also, attending networking events sponsored by these various groups provides me a chance to get tangible information (i.e. brochures, samples, branded materials), in the hands of potential clients and referral resources.
I routinely visit local home interior, lighting, flooring, paint, furniture stores, etc. to introduce myself, check out the inventory and apply as a vendor/contractor. In turn, these stores have added me to their preferred provider list for clients seeking my services. In most cases, these merchandisers provide me with a professional discount and perks.
I have reached out to real estate brokers/agents offering property staging services and free consultations for their buyers/sellers. I am a member of several real estate networking groups (live and online). Property staging is about 70% of my interior decorating business presently.
I also offer student internships in partnership with local schools and colleges/universities.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients for me would be real estate brokers/agents.
