We recently connected with Kelly Kotsiris and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Kelly thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
One of Adventure Pups biggest success stories was with a pup named Nova. She came to the Springs from Denver where she hiked with another hiking company located out there. When I first met Nova she barked consistently at any hikers that past by on the trail. She was also very nervous to meet me and be around me. Her mom had to coach her into my vehicle the first few months so she knew it was safe. The first few hikes she was nervous to meet other dogs on the trail and would back if she saw anyone hiking in the distance. With immediate and consistent training I was able to get her to heel and look at me whenever she saw any other hikers. Her pack then came to her side and began to accept her into the pack. They gave Nova the confidence she needed on her hikes with other dogs. Today she is happy and excited to meet new dogs on the trail while still having a strict response rate with any commands her pack leader gives her. She will even run up to my car and jump in herself without the coaching from her parents. She is such a remarkable girl with a passion to learn.

I moved to Colorado Springs in 2020 from Chicago to be closer to my sister and have a little more adventure in my life! I was working as a public accountant at a big four firm where my work-life balance was non existent. I began to do Rover on the side and found I felt so fulfilled and passionate when making my Rover clients happy and healthy. This was more fulfillment than I have ever felt while being a public accountant. From that day on I began to write a business plan up and have pivoted into the mobile dog hiking company I have today.
At Adventure Pups, we offer a range of services tailored to provide the best outdoor experiences for our pack members. Our core offerings include: Private Hikes, Pack Hikes, Beach Adventures & All Day Fall Adventures.

These moments are then sent to our clients through a report card where we also add detailed descriptions of their pup’s wonderful time with us.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Word of mouth has been the most effective strategy in growing our clientele. Providing the best service possible to each client can take your clientele list far. When we go above and beyond for a client they are much more likely to talk around the community about Adventure Pups. Additionally, trust is huge when providing a service to a pet of a family. When you can show a client that your company is trust worthy with the safety and wellbeing of your animal that holds a lot of weight in recommendations for your pet’s care.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my audience by following groups and pages that had similar interests as my business industry. I began to post in a similar manor as what I saw would worked for other dog hiking pages and learned the hashtag’s that brought my content to the pages of the audience I was looking for. Social media takes patience and trial and error at times. But putting out consistent and engaging content can keep your page relevant and attracting more viewers.
