Angela , appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

I worked in a traditional jewelry retail store for 22 years when the owners retired. I wanted to do jewelry a different way because I found that there were some holes over the years. I found that people often had a limited amount of time to come in, and if the store was busy, they were out of luck. People usually didn’t know exactly what they wanted, and they didn’t even know what to ask. They ended up feeling rushed and decided not to come back or got “sold” on something and were unhappy. Engagement customers also felt awkward because they were already doing something unknown to them, and now they had to talk to a room full of people about it!

I decided there had to be another way to help my clients. I felt like I could bring back the joy and ease of jewelry shopping by making it more personal and providing one-on-one service that no one in my area was doing! I created Angela Cisneros Jewelry Concierge.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Angela Cisneros Jewelry Concierge is the first by-appointment style jeweler in San Luis Obispo county. I have been in the jewelry industry for over 26 years and am a Graduate Gemologist. I absolutely love doing this style of business!

When my clients walk into my design studio, they can sit down and relax. They can share their ideas and their stories without interruptions. My engagement clients feel comfortable to ask all the questions they want because their appointment is just for them. I also have many clients who just call or text me with an idea, I give them options, and then wrap and deliver in the North County!

For me, jewelry is all about connection! It is a connection to yourself, a loved one, and/or to your future generations. By working with my clients in a by-appointment approach, I am able to take time with them and really listen to what they want. I can then use my experience and expertise to show them what is possible. Each design option I give my clients is curated specifically to them, and I am willing to take the time to get it just right.

My clients tell me they enjoy this process and feel like they are heard, and my engagement clients tell me that I make it easy for them! In the end, I want my clients to have the jewelry of their dreams and to have had a great experience. Angela Cisneros Jewelry Concierge is an experience for men and women who want to be helped and not sold.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?

One of the ways that I have grown my business is through a program I did about referrals. Instead of doing the awkward referral ask, I focus on taking care of my referral sources. I keep in touch of them throughout the year in a way to show gratitude. I also take my clients and referral sources out for a morning beverage to catch up with them in a genuine way.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

The other thing that has helped my business grow, is through mindset. I have learned that my thoughts are what create my emotions, and I have a process to sort through them so that I can move forward in my business instead of staying stuck. When I feel overwhelmed, I ask myself what are the thoughts that create that feeling. It is usually, I don’t have enough time, this always happens to me, I’m going to disappoint someone, this is too hard. Once I have gotten all the thoughts out, I ask myself what I want to feel. Confidence is what I want to feel. Then, I think thoughts that will make me feel confident, like I have plenty of time to get things done, I’ve been here before and got through it, I can do difficult things, this is such a great problem to have! And, voila! I feel confident! In the beginning, I had to do this thought work several times a day, but with practice I have grown. The confidence that I have now to be able to handle anything that comes at me, is incredible!
