We recently connected with Christy Hart and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Christy, thanks for joining us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
Our business was started from crafting with my daughter in our kitchen. We would use wood shavings to form flowers to sell at craft markets. A few months later we were introduced to the material we now use for our flowers. After posting a picture on Facebook, someone reached out to us about designing her wedding flowers. The rest is history. So to answer your question, I was self-taught, but have always had an eye for design.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Christy, owner of Bloomphoria, a wooden floral design company. Bloomphoria was birthed to offer an alternative to brides wishing to have a lasting memento from their wedding day.
What sets Bloomphoria apart from other florists is we offer cherished, sustainable flowers-no more throwing your flowers or money away after the wedding.
While we are known for our unique designs and attention to detail, we LOVE meeting new faces. People are my jam and top notch customer service will always be the number one priority! So I’d have to to say it’s our wonderful customers that have gotten us to where we are today. We simply couldn’t do it without them. Their kind reviews and continued referrals are the reason we are still thriving.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being a creative is seeing the faces of our clients when they see their wedding flowers for the first time. It means the absolute world to my small business and it propels us forward.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I would say having a creative daughter has been in the forefront of my mind along my business journey.. She has an entrepreneur spirit and it pushes me to show her that a young woman (or teen) can run a successful, profitable business on her own.
