We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brande Pa’trice. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brande below.
Brande, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I knew I wanted to be in entertainment when I was between the age of 4-5 years old. I started dancing at 3 yrs. old and singing by the age 5. I wasn’t camera shy at the age of four and had been performing my own shows in my backyard, school, and any place that I could. I loved being in front of the camera all of the time. There was never a holiday or moment, for that matter, I let pass by without me dancing, singing, or simply being known. I also took vocal lessons, sang with numerous choirs, and also trained with other singers and vocal groups.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

But soon after the glory, came the trauma. In 2016, I became homeless and had nothing but my iMac. Even though I continued to perform under these circumstances, I felt everything I worked for was gone, and I had no one to turn to even with my local fame. I continued to write music and pursue graphic design. I frequently walked to Starbucks every day for the internet to try to make a living. But I never stopped writing music. In 2016, I also released “Murder Dress” (120 Thousand downloads); and “FingerWaves and CupCakes” in 2017. From gained internet exposure, I was asked to join the Lifetime show “Bring It” as a guest performer and in “Sun Records” tv series on TV Land and Nick. In June 2018, I found courage from within and made myself get out of the bed and start living again.
With that being said, Brande also heads her annual, Feed the Homeless, event. As a recording artist, she has made giving to the homeless her main philanthropic duty.
Since then I have performed in Memphis, TN (13 shows including the Delta Fair 2022), Miami, Fl (3 Shows), and Houston, TX (4 shows).
The Music
In December 2018, I released 2 of my greatest albums yet, Bad B Certified and Bucking Around the Christmas Tree. Bad B Certified is a compilation of all my pain, joy, attitude, and bad b mentality. With over 100 thousand downloads so far, I have grown to be a better artist, and definitely more appreciative.
And what is a Bad B (Brande)? A Bad B is a person who has won battle after battle with nothing but self-motivation and prayer. And that’s where the B’s or Brande’s come into play. All of my B’s are pieces of me. Some are quiet, outgoing, unhinged, reserved, daring, compassionate, determined, and most of all loving. We are all different ethnicities and shapes. That’s what makes us unstoppable and hard to compete with.
As for me, I am moving towards a higher plateau in my personal life which will make room for better opportunities in my music career.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
One of the most influential scenarios that motivate me is the time when I was homeless, and had to rebuild my life. My personal goal in life is to never be in that space again. It was difficult, life changing, and mentally damaging.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being as artist, is the FREEDOM. I am free to do what I want, when I want, and how I want. Having a great fan base has given me the freedom to simply be me.
