Mariah, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
We do many things differently at Intrepid Bodyworks from corporate locations. For our clients we offer a full 60 minute hour massage, the same for 90 minute massages, we prefer to talk to the clients prior to scheduling their first session about some of the pain issues they are experiencing so that we can pair them with the best therapist to help them with that issue, and we also bring on the highest quality staff! We require our therapists to take continuing education to better themselves and better serve the clients.
For our staff we pay liveable wages, PTO, medical, dental, 401k, and other benefits. We understand that they can’t work non stop and still give their best to the clients. We have therapists with 10+ years experience making them Master Bodyworkers, Licensed Massage Therapists and Student Interns. Each of these types of therapists have different price points so we can help clients with different financial needs. The chiropractor and acupuncturist are top of the line and have been practicing for years. We know we can’t function without our team and we want to let everyone know they are the best team around!
The other thing that sets us apart is that our location offers a variety of holistic treatments all in one spot. We offer acupuncture, chiropractic, massage therapy, and yoga. Each of these work well with the others to help our chronic pain clients, injury or surgery rehab clients, and the active adults of Colorado. Our current location is a major expansion and we are able to house all these offerings and some special events, like puppy yoga, occasionally.

Intrepid Bodyworks is a holistic health clinic working to help reduce chronic pain issues, post surgery/injury rehab, and active adults to live their best life with as little pain as possible! We want to help you get back to doing the activities that you love by using acupuncture, chiropractic, massage therapy and yoga to best treat clients. Most of our staff entered the industry for the same reason: injury! That is why our location focuses on medically based therapeutic treatments. We do not offer spa services but true therapeutic treatment and plans! This is why we are getting credentialed to accept insurance.
We are available seven days a week from 9-7 for massage therapy sessions. Our acupuncturist is available three days a week and our chiropractor is currently only available on Friday from 11-7. We are in process to be able to accept insurance and should be able to accept a number of insurance companies by the end of the year. We are on Facebook and Instagram and have some great posts about different modalities and yoga asanas/poses and last minute openings for therapists. These are great ways to follow updates and the most current announcements! We also post about the CBD product line that we carry. It took years to find a quality product that actually works and this product line is absolutely fantastic. You can take the product home or we can use it during a massage or acupuncture session.
If you are looking to feel better long term and not just a couple of hours schedule a session with us and see the difference. We’re not miracle workers and it can take a couple sessions for the work to take hold but there is a big difference between medically based work and relaxation based work. Has your business ever had a near-death moment? Would you mind sharing the story?
This summer! We expanded into a much larger space in November of 2022. This was a much needed move but then this summer everyone started to travel again and our schedules have been less then full. If it wasn’t for the EIDL loan from during Covid this wonderful group of employees may be without work right now.
Between the normal advertising, the community events that we have been taking part in and our loyal clientele we have been staying afloat! Once kids go back to school and parents lives settle back into a routine I believe that the schedules will fill again. Right now we have same day openings several times a week. That was not the case for the past three years as we were booked out fully for almost three weeks.
The staff has been incredible through the move and ups and downs! Without my amazing team behind me this business wouldn’t have never made it off the ground let alone been able to expand. They understood that Covid was hard and the expansion meant that I couldn’t keep the business open and give everyone much deserved pay raises. Everyone understood and stuck with me because they believe in what we are doing and want to help our clients as much as I do! I will never be able to say thank you enough to them!!
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
We have several ways new clients find us! Word of mouth produces the best clients who already know what therapist they would like to try first. Google has also been great. Many new clients looking for something different from western medicine or spa massage pampering find us through Google searches or Google ads and contact us. After we get to chat with potential clients and pair them up with a specific therapist or treatment new clients become faithful regulars 90% of the time. Once new clients see and feel the difference they can’t help but come back to keep feeling their best!
