We were lucky to catch up with Jaclyn Gallo recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jaclyn, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
You know that incredible feeling when your light is sparked? You might find it while watching the sunset with loved ones, creating momentum towards your dreams or by taking some time to map out your vision, values and goals. Sometimes it’s found in the first sip of morning coffee or in bright smile of your newborn baby.
I have one goal for my life- to feel sparked. And I believe that we have the power to design our lives in a way that sparks our light. This doesn’t mean that we’ll never face challenges or have bad days. In fact, I believe that challenges and failures are essential components to creating a life that sparks you.
My mission for the Spark Your Light Studios is to help millions of women create lives that spark their light. Through personal stories, expert interviews and powerful life coaching techniques, I guide my audience through designing a life that lights them up inside.
Jaclyn, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Spark Your Light Studios is on a mission to help millions of women create lives that spark the light inside of them. We produce the Spark Your Light Podcast and other inspiring content such as our weekly newsletter and social media posts.
In addition, I am also a keynote speaker and a writer (currently I’m working on book #3). As a certified life coach, I’ve spent thousands of hours coaching 1:1, and now I have the privilege to share these teachings and tools with a larger audience.
How did I find my way into this line of work? The summer after my junior year of college, I worked at a large corporation. Within a few weeks of this internship, I quickly realized that I wanted to start my own business. I followed my passions and created a physical product, which later failed. I picked myself back up and moved forward with my second idea, a digital app. This also failed. After spending years and tens of thousands of dollars on failed business ideas, I hit rock bottom. At the lowest point of my life, I turned to the self-help section of the library to try and pick up some of the broken pieces. I fell in love with the power the human mind, and how we can use it to create the lives we want.
I began to change my life, and I started sharing it on the internet with others. The more I shared vulnerable stories about my own personal growth journey, the more others wanted to listen and learn. I then became certified as a life coach and the rest is history!
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
The two biggest things for me with building my audience have been sharing vulnerably and genuinely helping people. If your content is relatable and helps people in some way, people will naturally gravitate towards it.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
I love this question! As an avid reader (and audiobook listener, thank you Audible), there have been many books that have shaped my thinking. Some of my favorites are: Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, The One Thing by Gary Keller, and the Law of Attraction by Abraham Hicks.
