We were lucky to catch up with MR. LPD recently and have shared our conversation below.
MR. LPD, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you take us back in time to the first dollar you earned as a creative – how did it happen? What’s the story?
I’d have to say that my first dollar earned as a creative was from my gift of drumming. When i was a kid I’d go outside and beat on buckets and my neighbors couldn’t stand that loud noise lol! They would be up drinking all night so that noise was not good for them at all. They would actually pay me to stop beating those buckets. Then when i was in the 2nd grade i was getting paid to go play the drums for a local gospel group.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m MR. LPD, a known underground recording artist from Tupelo Ms. I’ve been living in Atlanta Ga. since i was in my late teens. I got into the music game at a young age as a drummer. Music is in my blood i am the son of a known gospel singer (R.I.P POPS) i started making beats around 6th grade and around 7th grade i took an interest in rapping. My dad bought me a singalodeon for my birthday that year and i made a song with it that i felt was pretty good. I had the song played at a party at the local bowling alley one night and everyone went crazyyyyy!!!! From that night i started making more songs and at 17 year’s old i had music on the radio and selling in stores. I’ve worked with artist’s such as Gucci Mane, David Banner, Tk Soul, I’m featured on major projects (Albums & Films) These day’s i still make music for my core fans but I’ve been doing a lot of behind the scenes work since 2005. In 2005 is when i was introduced to marketing and promotions and the executive side of things. I started doing promo work and dj service work for artist’s Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Plies, hosting for T Pain and even touring with So So Def.

Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I’m not really hip to the whole NFT game yet. But I’m interested in gaining more knowledge about them. I’ve actually had some people talk to me about turning my older rare 90’s material into NFTs. I’m game if anyone who knows how that works want to reach out to me.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My drive is just my love for the game! I love music, i love creating music and i love helping upcoming artist’s get into the music game and on the proper platforms to be seen and heard by the masses.
