We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Albina Azarian-Myers a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Albina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?

So it’s a funny story actually how we got to T & A Designs. When we first started our company in November 2020, we started off by being called WhistleStop Shop OC. We wanted something fun and different. Whistlestop means “a short stop of great importance” and we loved that cause we were the short stop! It was mid way through 2022, we started really figuring out what are niche was with our business and that Whistlestop wasn’t really cohesive with what were doing. People couldn’t tell by our business name who we were and what we did. We reached out to another fellow small business owner who does rebranding and while chatting with her, and really digging deep in our what we wanted our brand to represent, we came up with T & A Designs! T stands for Trevor and A stands for Albina and so it is our designs! We love our new name and really feel that it represents us and who we are and what we do!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

We are T & A Designs! Trevor and Albina Myers – a husband and wife team of makers! We have been in the sign making industry since November 2020. We started this company because Trevor has always been great at making things and I have always been into design and when Covid hit, we really had to evaluate if we were happy with what we were doing with our lives and we really wanted to be in the making business. So we went for it! We started our business really small, not a ton of equipment mostly doing things by hand. Eventually grew- bought a laser, then recently bought a bigger laser, and now, we work with multiple party planning companies helping with birthdays, weddings, and more! We also are so proud to work with so many other small business in making their business logos into signs! It is such an honor when a fellow small business owner trusts you with their logo and you get to bring it to life! We love our job!

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

Honestly, word of mouth! It has been so humbling and incredible to hear our clients talking about our business and sharing with with each other! It means so much to us to be recommended. It is the best compliment!

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.

This business was 100% a side hustle when it first started back at the end of 2020. It is so humbling to say that it is turning into a full time gig and we love every second of it!
