Crystal, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

The Pueblo History project holds a special place in my heart, as it has not only allowed me to delve into the rich history of Pueblo but also fostered a deep connection with my town and its people. Through this endeavor, I have the privilege of exploring significant historical events that shaped our community, unearthing forgotten stories and preserving the essence of our past. The project’s focus on Pueblo’s history has helped me appreciate the sacrifices and contributions made by those who came before us, instilling a profound sense of pride in my town’s heritage. The opportunity to share these insights with others has allowed me to contribute to the cultural preservation and strengthen the bonds within our community, making it a truly meaningful and rewarding experience.

I am a passionate photographer with a unique journey. Originally aspiring to become a history teacher, my path took an artistic turn during college, leading me to embrace the world of photography. When the pandemic struck, I seized the opportunity to rekindle my love for capturing moments and invested in a quality camera. Motivated by my desire to preserve cherished memories and document the history of my town, I embarked on a mission to create lasting and meaningful images for others. Chrysalis Photography Colorado became a reality in 2021. I offer photography services for weddings, events, newborn, families, Seniors, and Cosplayers. Through my lens, I seek to weave together the tapestry of the past and the present, sharing my artistic vision with the world. This has led to the creation of a podcast entitled “WHAT THE Pueblo?!” where I delve deep into the past while exploring the mysterious and intriguing aspects of the present. I will be uncovering the untold stories from history, sharing spine-chilling accounts of paranormal sightings, and guiding my listeners through the treasure troves of museums and events in Pueblo. With a keen eye for local resources, I will be taking my listeners on an immersive journey, preserving the essence of Pueblo’s heritage and connecting the listeners with the hidden gems it holds. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a believer in the supernatural, or a curious explorer, “What the Pueblo” promises to be your go-to destination for tales that captivate and leave you wondering.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The most rewarding thing for me personally is when I deliver the final photographs to a client and get to watch their eyes light up with joy. The knowledge that I have helped in preserving memories for the future generations is exciting. With the historical preservation aspect it is so rewarding when my photos and stories help another person become enthusiastic about history. For it is in the past where we find stories of inspiration that help us carry on.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

My mission with “WHAT THE Pueblo?!” podcast is to unravel the captivating tapestry of our town’s past and present, embracing its history, folklore, and supernatural mysteries. Through compelling storytelling and immersive exploration, I aim to connect my audience with the rich heritage, paranormal encounters, and hidden treasures that make our town truly unique. With each episode, I hope to preserve the memories of the past, celebrate the spirit of the present, and offer a glimpse into the intriguing local resources that enrich our community. My goal is to inspire curiosity, ignite wonder, and foster a sense of belonging among my listeners as we embark on this fascinating journey together.
