We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cassandra Pinataro. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cassandra below.
Alright, Cassandra thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s one of the most important lessons you learned in school?
I’ll never forget this moment in my senior year of undergraduate school at New England Conservatory in Boston, Massachusetts. I was standing at the piano during a vocal lesson with my teacher, Lisa Saffer. I was having trouble with a final cadenza, and was reaching to the high F at the end of the piece. It was odd that this was a struggle, considering typically, this note was not an issue. Lisa looked at me and said, “the high note is about everything that happens before it“. This struck me as not only great advice for how I could accomplish the cadenza, but it also as a metaphor for life. When I think about how I approach music, and how I approach my career, I genuinely believe that the hard work I do each and every day will pay off in the future- or for those high notes. I believe those incredible moments and wins we have in life and in music are a direct product of the work we do to get there. I put this idea into my work every single day as the CEO and founder of my business, Cassandra Official Music Global LLC. I’m constantly striving to find the next opportunity for me to sing, share my music, and utilize my music business knowledge in the industry.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’ve been singing as long as I could speak! What began as me training with my mother, blossomed into me, taking voice lessons, starting at the age of 11. I started in local recitals and musical theater along with my training and piano, violin, and dance. I eventually switched to a new vocal instructor, who helped me break into the classical singing world. I began doing competitions and considering auditioning to go to school for music. After auditioning and applying to 28 colleges and conservatories, I was pleased to find that I’ve been excepted to New England Conservatory in Boston, MA to study classical voice with Lisa Saffer. While I was enjoying my studies in Boston, the global pandemic made me turn my head a new direction. I realize that while I love singing classically, I wanted to be able to also tell my story in my music. Soon after this realization, I began writing songs over zoom during the pandemic, and then traveling to Nashville to record them and release them. I started cultivating a following on TikTok and Instagram and created a community of people who are inspired by my music and message. I aimed to create songs that centered around the ideas of self-love and healthy relationships, and continue to do that today. I completed my studies at New England, Conservatory simultaneously and graduated in May 2022, and soon after moved to Nashville Tennessee to continue pursuing my Pop music. I am proud to say that I have been able to release 14 songs to date and I’m currently working on a new EP. While working on my music career, I also have the joy of becoming a Miss America Titleholder. As a means to expand my pop music audience, and have a greater impact in my community, I competed for the title of Miss, Boston, 2022, and was proud to win this competition and go on to be the talent winner, and first runner up at the Miss Massachusetts 2022 competition. In Nashville, I am proud to currently hold the title of this music city 2023 and be the talent winner and third runner-up to Miss Tennesse 2023. I have still not decided if I’ll continue to compete in the Miss, America Organization, but I’m forever grateful for the experiences that this has provided me. I look forward to sharing more music with you all on my TikTok and Instagram @youknowcassandra and on my website www.cassandraofficialmusic.com. You can find my music on Spotify, Apple Music, and more under my artist name, Cassandra. My most recent release was entitled, “Love You Back”!
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building a social media presence take serious dedication. During the global pandemic, I posted six videos a day every single day for over a year. That’s 42 videos per week or 2184 videos per year. I was exhausted and going live on TikTok for nearly 2 hours a day, every day, but this taught me one thing. When you show up for others, they will show up for you. Consistently sharing my message of self-love and healthy relationships with my followers while sharing singing videos, and my original music helped to cultivate a community of people who were invested in my message and in supporting me. I’m so grateful that I took this initiative and I’m so grateful for each, and every person has followed me on this journey. How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Education! I am so proud to be a graduate of New England Conservatory in a current masters student in music business at Berklee College of music online. I genuinely believe that my followers enjoy my pop music knowing that I have formal training in Opera and my new vocal studio, I know that my students are excited to learn from someone who has studied this so deeply. Sharing my knowledge from the studies and helping others to grow within the music industry has been one of the greatest Waze. Sharing my knowledge from the studies and helping others to grow within the music industry has been one of the greatest ways I’ve been able to build my reputation as an artist and a mentor.
