We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sydni Allyse a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Sydni, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so we’d love to hear about how you got your first client or customer. What’s the story?
The great thing about having a travel agent is that sometimes you don’t have to pay in full and can arrange a payment plan. Being as though this was an
elaborate trip; we created a payment system that’s easily accessible for clients to
activate, understanding that payment in full is required one month prior to a
scheduled departure date.
Getting my first client was easier than I expected. I started posting on Instagram
that I was a travel agent, and within two weeks I received an inquiry via email
using an online form I’d created and posted online. I was ecstatic for a number of
reasons, mostly because the forms were a headache to add to my website, I was
happy to know that my work wasn’t done in vain and someone that I didn’t know
trusted me to plan their experience for them.
My first client wanted to spend a week in Los Cabos, Mexico at the Hard
Rock Café Hotel with her significant other. I arranged her airfare, transportation,
and all-inclusive hotel. I also sent my client a list of restaurants in the area to try
as well as a link to book excursions, uncertain of her adventurous level.
Overall, my client enjoyed her stay and was able to connect with me
when needed during her trip. Having my first client motivated me to continue
working as a travel agent and inspired me to learn more about travel so that I
might be versed enough to successfully meet the needs of future clients. There’s so much to see in the world I was happy to
create an experience tailored to her needs that she would love.

Sydni, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Sydni Allyse, but most know me by Syd. I’m from New Jersey but currently reside in Atlanta, GA with my mom, brother, and the best English
Bulldog in the world, MAC. Growing up I’ve always loved to travel but it wasn’t
until my sophomore year in college that I went on my first international trip to
China where I studied abroad for an entire summer. I was excited, nervous, and
scared all at the same time. I didn’t know where to begin or what to pack, not to
mention this would be my first time even having a passport.
This experience opened my eyes to a world of new opportunities. I have been
blessed to live abroad and to have experienced different cultures and customs
which intrigued me whilst fueling my passion to travel the world. I am fascinated
by the people of the world. It is through My First Class Experience that I hope to
empower others so that they might grow to be as fascinated with the people of the
world as I am.
What I’m most proud of is being an inspiration and a help to others not just
professionally but those within the community. Understanding that everyone’s
opportunity is everyone’s opportunity, which is why I encourage people to follow
their dreams, even if similar to mine. I don’t hate anyone, and I embrace people
to always do what’s in their best interest. If you want to start a business, go to
school, or write a play, just go for it.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I keep in touch with my clients and foster brand identity by posting regularly on Instagram, answering direct messages and emails and having a newsletter list
that I send emails to regularly. When you subscribe to my newsletter you receive
a FREE Travel Checklist!
On my YouTube channel, I show my travel experiences. You can watch me visit
the Sandals Resorts in Jamaica or my friend and I ziplining through El Salvador! I
show my clients why they should travel as well as educate them on different
locations that are available worldwide.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Funny you ask, I’m learning this lesson right now; I had to learn that fast money isn’t always good money. I’ve been a waitress all my life. Recently I lost my job due to new management and instead of me trying to find the next gig or a way to make a quick dollar I decided to perfect my crafts. I’m focused more on creating content, making websites, meeting new people, and learning everything that I can about traveling and the best deals and vendors. I’ve traded in my nightlife for something different. The money is FAR from the same but I’m at peace and content.
