We recently connected with Allure Creative and have shared our conversation below.

Allure, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.

We started our company two seasons ago after dancing professionally together for five years. We had the idea after working together for a couple years to break off and start our own professional dance company. We had the vision, experience, ideas, and drive. It was a scary jump to start from scratch and create something new but we were excited to see where it could go. We also wanted it to mean something and be a safe space for artists. We wanted Allure Creative to be all about empowering women and showing them they can be creative, strong, powerful, mysterious, and beautiful in a creative way which is what made us choose the name Allure.

Allure, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

The Allure Creative is a professional contemporary modern dance company in Saratoga Springs, Utah. We are an all women company who strive to empower women and create a loving environment to grow as artists. Our dancers have all had experience in professional and collegiate dance and Allure Creative is able to help them continue their careers as professionals. We give our dancers choreographic experience and invite guest choreographers to set work on our company that debuts each fall.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

The most rewarding aspect for us as directors of Allure Creative is to see our dancers flourish and grow in this art form. We love being able to provide a space where dancers can express themselves through movement. We perform in different community events and put on our show for the community to help others have more experience with different art forms. People can build a sense of community through dance because dance helps to express emotion, stories, and connect others. We love seeing our dancers continue to grow with each other and build true relationships.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

We would love to expand our company to provide training and performance experience for young dancers in a pre-professional company. We strive to help dancers continue their dance career whether that is after high school or college through our company. We now offer open classes to the community and are excited to grow that part of our program. Strengthening dancer’s technique during our season is a standard each season for our company.
