Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ashley Taylor. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ashley , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
The biggest risk for me was simply just starting! My very first writing job came from Fiverr about 2 months after I created a profile. While it wasn’t my dream job and I was severely underpaid, it taught me valuable lessons like client engagement, copy creation, and the editing process. I honestly didn’t think anything would come from that but years later, I have now worked with hundreds of clients and brands, continuing to grow and learn from each project.

Ashley , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I got into the creative industry after growing up with a huge imagination. I saw scenes in my head and wanted to create them in real life, in real time with real people. Photography has always been one of the biggest ways I can manifest my creativity visually, while writing has always fueled my quiter, more contemplative side. My goal with my work in any creative field has always been to connect with humanity, whether through intentional words or beautiful photos. This may seem cliche to say, but my work tells a story. Firebird Creative Co was born from the mission to bring the fire to photos and words. Fuel them, bring them to life. Life has a sort of beautiful authenticity that where we fail to pick it up, creative works are right there to display them oh so perfectly.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect is seeing the meaning and vision captured and manifested in my completed work. Whether it be a family photo or a piece of social media copy, my client’s intent and purpose always shines through and that always makes me happy. Some of my favorite moments are the ones right after a photoshoot where I go back and look through my camera to see some of the most radiant smiles and precious moments captured.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
One of the most significant ways society can best support artists and creatives is simply by supporting and sharing their business and content whenever they can. Many people don’t realize the power of a simple share or like. If someone doesn’t have the resources to buy a creative’s work outright, THAT’S OK! Support can be small but make the biggest difference. And at the end of the day, the best way to know is to ask! Don’t be afraid to send your favorite artist a message asking how they can best be supported and how you can bring awareness to the amazing content they create.
