We recently connected with Bryona Hasiuk and have shared our conversation below.
Bryona, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Bryona Hasiuk Photography started and will continue to be the business that captures priceless moments at an affordable price; I believe everyone deserves to have professional pictures taken no matter the amount of income you receive. Professional photos are expensive and I totally understand why they are expensive. Now that I have been doing this professionally myself for 4 years I also know what it’s like to not be able to afford to get your photos taken. I strive to make sure at least one family once in their lifetime can get professional photos done at an affordable rate. I also offer “Pay what you can” sessions once a year that allows anyone to pay whatever they can to get their photos done. No matter the cost, you get the same value images as someone who paid my full price!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My love for photography started when I was young and I use to make my sister come join me outdoors while I took her pictures and would edit them, I remember just being in love with the camera! A few short years later I ended up in Anchorage, Alaska where my uncle had a camera and I immediately picked up and fell in love all over again, I would take photos of everyone and everything! I got pregnant with my daughter a few short years later and that resulted in me moving to Oceanside, Ca and marrying my husband who at the time was active duty. During our 4 years in California I remember wanting to purchase a camera and my husband would always tell me to do it but I just couldn’t justify the cost so I never did, I just kept paying photographers in the area to take photos of our kids and called it that. When my husband got out we moved back to Northern Minnesota and 2 months later he bought me my first official camera and from then on I have been capturing memories of everyone around me. I have been photographing people and things for four years professionally and am very passionate about capturing real moments, real feelings true in the moment interaction. I just want you in your natural state whether that is laughing, crying, dancing ,singing loving on each other, hugging, kissing I want you in your natural state because those are the best images you can take in my opinion. I want you to look back at your photos and remember when you were taking them how happy and free in that moment you were.
I also love to help with styling suggestions. Everyone wants to look and feel their best, and I’m here to help make sure you feel your best. I’m also here to connect with you, laugh with you, cry with you, be friends with you, and tell your story through the photos that I take of yourself, family, friends, etc.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
I wish I knew when I first started photography that it’s okay to still be learning. Everyday with photography you’re learning something new! If you ever need help do not be afraid to reach out to other photographers!!

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I’ve learned that most of my clients have come to me from word of mouth. To me thats big; as it means I’m getting lots of positive input from past clients and they’re referring new clients to me.
