Hana, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
I am quite happy as a creative. It has allowed me to be myself and explore all aspects of life through movement. I get to tell stories as well as push the boundaries of what the body can do. Though it does come with challenges. I do sometimes wonder what it would be like if I had tried a different career path. I try not to dwell on past decisions, because I do believe things happen for a reason, but I don’t know if I would ever be as fulfilled as I am as an artist

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a professional dancer, choreographer, and fitness trainer that dabbles in furniture building for myself and friends on the weekends. Dance truly found me. I was a shy kid with a big imagination and when I started dancing in high school it was something that really brought me out of my shell. I would watch music videos all day and teach myself the steps. I knew this was something I wanted to take seriously.
Choreography didn’t come to me till a bit later. I started to really enjoy telling stories through movement. I have always been called a “theatrical” person and so I finally wanted to incorporate that in my work and then choreography just started coming out.
As I began I professional journey fitness really came hand in hand with my dancing. It helped strengthen my body for the rigorous day to day we had in rehearsals and I wanted to help others with that as well.
Now when it comes to furniture building I really just wanted to try it. I purchased a home and when it was time to try and furnish it, items were so expensive. I just thought to myself that I can do this. So I started watching videos and buying equipment and dove in. Next thing I knew I was building tables, beds, dressers, etc. then my friends started asking me to do that same for them. I started recording myself as I work on my home. I am always extremely proud of the things I build. Because it really takes time and it feels like such an accomplishment when you complete a project.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, I really want to be my own boss. I am very passionate about supporting others and helping people get what they deserve whether it’s through work or is a product I’m producing. My goal is to take things into my own hands and be able to build my very own business

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most awarding part is moving people. Having the audience or a customer enjoy your performance, or class, or product. Making people feel something every time is the most rewarding thing
