Austin, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The mission of SHOUT! Graphics is simple. To provide a wide variety of graphic and web design services for professionals who want an experienced designer to make their brand stand out.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have built up nearly 10 years of experience in both Web Design and Graphic Design. I would love to help you SHOUT! your message loud to your next customer. I take pride in creating clean and eye catching visuals that establish a brand with a strong voice.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The goal of a graphic designer and a traditional artist is ultimately to fullfil our need to create and experiment. However, as a designer my work is the most rewarding when it feels like it’s serving someone else more than it’s serving me. Once I hand off my work, it belongs to the customer and operates as an extension of their passions. I find it incredibly rewarding to see my work be a catalyst for how someone can best represent themselves going forward.
Have you ever had to pivot?
I have been constantly pivoting in my career. My first design job came before I finished school, and from there my career became the top priority. I entered the market as a graphic designer in ernest, but the job market continued to drive me deeper into the world of web design, UX/UI, and SEO. It has always been about keeping both sides of my skill set sharp. That has often meant embracing new goals as I chose to return to school, and set my sights on more broad design roles. I have learned to be open to any opportunity that presents itself.
