Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kathryn Roden. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kathryn, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Growing up I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do for my career. I thought I would stumble upon something I was passionate about later on in my education. After attending college, I still felt unsure of what I wanted to do, so instead I started thinking about what I wanted to produce, which was being able to help others feel better in some way.
Searching for how I could have a meaningful impact on the lives of others and help them truly feel better, inside and out, led me to massage therapy, and in turn, to starting my own business. I am passionate about helping others improve the quality of their lives, whether that is pain relief, regaining mobility or even just providing a relaxing escape.
Kathryn, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For as long as I can remember, I have always been driven to find a way to help others. As I entered he workforce, I decided to try to combine the two, what could I do for work that would also benefit others in a meaningful way? Growing up, both of my parents were in the medical field, my father a doctor, my mother a physical therapist, so I have always had a strong interest in anatomy and physiology. In my childhood I was able to see my parents care for and aid others in their respective careers. Searching for an impactful way to help others lead me to the field of massage therapy.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been to find local businesses and build a referral/partnership with them. I researched my area and found businesses where I thought others could benefit from my services, gyms, pilates studios, chiropractors, etc. After meeting and establishing a relationship with these providers, we now work together to refer clients within our network.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe what has helped me build a reputation has been quality of client care. I truly believe establishing a relationship with your clients is important, learning their specific needs, preferences, goals and whatever else they might share. I genuinely care about and value all of my clients.
