Lucica, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?

We feel the name says it all, You can’t rush nature you must be patient. So we have all heard “Good things come in time” or “patience is a virtue” We believe beauty takes time. Like a developing butterfly. So in time you will see beautiful results from our natural botanical skincare.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I am a botanical skincare formulator. I have always had a deep fascination with skincare and beauty products from a young age. It all started when I would play around with my grandmother’s cold cream, finding it both relaxing and enjoyable. As I grew older, I ventured into trying various products from drugstores and department stores, always seeking the satisfaction of purchasing something new.

During my teenage years and into adulthood, I continued to experiment with different skincare products. I even became a Mary Kay consultant, where I discovered the importance of educating women about skincare before makeup. However, a significant turning point came when I lost a dear friend to breast cancer. In her final days, she enlightened me about the presence of cancer-causing chemicals in many everyday products, which I was completely unaware of.

Motivated by this newfound knowledge, I started reading product labels and seeking out cleaner alternatives. As my children grew up and I found myself with more free time, I delved deeper into researching and creating my own skincare products for personal use. To my surprise, I found that everyday items like toothpaste, deodorant, and face wash could be easily and affordably made at home. The process brought me immense joy and satisfaction. I took formulation classes to learn about proper measurements and the beneficial ingredients needed to create balanced and stable products.

As I continued making my own skincare creations, I began receiving numerous compliments on my skin. Encouraged by these positive experiences, I decided to embark on an exciting journey and start my own skincare line. However, my approach to natural skincare was unconventional. I wanted to challenge the notion that natural products are plain, earthy, and boring. Many people associate them with unscented and bland formulations. I aimed to flip that perception on its head by offering high-end clean luxury products with luster, uniqueness, and beautiful scents that rival those found at cosmetic counters. In essence, I wanted to show that you can have your cake and eat it! We can enjoy the luxurious experience of high-end skincare without compromising on harmful chemicals. Creating clean skincare products certainly comes with its own set of challenges. such as:
Ingredient Sourcing high-quality, natural ingredients. Formulation and Stability: Developing clean skincare formulations that are stable, effective, and have a desirable texture can be complex. Product Efficacy: Clean skincare products should not only be free from harmful ingredients but also deliver the desired skincare benefits. It can be challenging to strike a balance between natural formulations and achieving the desired results, especially when it comes to addressing specific skin concerns. Education and Consumer Perception: Educating consumers about the importance of clean skincare and dispelling common misconceptions can be an ongoing challenge. Many people still associate natural products with being less effective or less luxurious compared to conventional alternatives. Overcoming these preconceived notions and building trust in the efficacy and benefits of clean skincare requires effective communication and transparency. Cost Considerations: Creating clean skincare products often involves higher costs due to the sourcing of premium natural ingredients. Balancing the desire to provide accessible products with the need for quality ingredients can be a challenge, especially for small-scale or independent skincare line like ours. Despite these challenges, I am passionate to overcoming these obstacles to offer clean, effective, and luxurious skincare options to consumers who prioritize their health and well-being.

I am passionate about offering a different perspective on what nature-inspired beauty can be, and I can’t wait to share my creations with the world

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

Educating my clientele about the benefits of natural skincare products and the specific ingredients I use, has been extremely effective, Education is crucial in building trust and growing our customers. I take time to break down the benefits of each ingredient. Emphasize that our natural ingredients are derived from plants, fruits, and other natural sources, which often have a long history of traditional use and are well-tolerated by the skin. Natural ingredients can provide similar or even superior results compared to synthetic alternatives without the potential risks associated with synthetic chemicals. This knowledge empowers them to make informed choices and builds a loyal customer base who appreciate the quality and benefits our brand provides. We communicate this information through various channels, such as product packaging, website descriptions, social media content, and in person customer interactions. Providing educational resources and engaging with your clientele’s questions and concerns further reinforces your commitment to their skincare journey.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?

I read a book titled “Grow Your Value” and learned about the importance of balance and reflection. Finding and maintaining balance in our lives is indeed crucial for personal and professional growth. It allows us to prioritize our well-being, manage our time effectively, and make conscious choices that align with our values and goals. In the context of personal growth and professional development, balance is essential to avoid burnout, maintain productivity, and foster creativity. It involves setting boundaries, managing priorities, and making time for self-reflection and self-care. It’s also about recognizing that success is not solely defined by achievements in one area of life but rather achieving fulfillment and happiness across multiple dimensions. I learned, we have a continuous journey rather than a destination. It requires regular self-assessment, adjustments, and the willingness to adapt to life’s changing circumstances. I have had many changes on this journey! A great book.
