We recently connected with Samuel Farley and have shared our conversation below.
Samuel , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
As a kid I was witness to the opposite of success so I took notes on what not to do. From my experience in life and business you have to start with caring about whatever it is that you do. Whether that be taking photos, cooking food or analyzing stocks. Whatever it be, make sure you care about because I also believe it’s hard to put in the required 10,000+ hours to get great at something or great at a business without truly caring about it.
I think the main aspect of my life that helped me develop my point of view was years and years of not having what I saw others did have. My parents struggled financially to the point of bankruptcy as a kid and the whole experience of growing up in a house filled with stress about money, I took notes on how not to live my life. I was the first one in my family to graduate from college getting my B.S in Psychology from Drexel University in Philadelphia in 2015. I moved to Denver after school and started my media company MHPC Media when I was 23 in 2016 and at 28 flipped my first real estate project / house hack. I now work in real estate full time helping clients buy and sell as well as handling my own investments. To me, being successful is being passionate about what you work on and being able to live the type of life and lifestyle you want to live for yourself and your family. Work hard, learn from mistakes, keep going and get the results.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a professional photographer and real estate broker in the state of Colorado. I got into the media business in 2015 after college and after getting a job as a staff writer and photographer in Denver for a local magazine. I started my media company in 2016 and ran some of the largest legal cannabis related brand / company social media accounts in Colorado. I take photos of fine glass art pieces, marbles, lifestyle / brand photos, product photos and more. I also shoot hip hop shows in the city from time to time and have shot with Chris Webby, Caskey, Dizzy Wright, Mark Battles, Young Dolph, Key Glock and more. I have had my photography work and writing featured in various magazines including Sensi Magazine, The Hemp Connoisseur Magazine, FORBES, DOPE, High Times and Leaf Magazine.
I started in real estate in 2019 after buying a townhouse that needed renovation. I lived there and house hacked the property while I had it renovated, got my real estate license, placed it on the market and sold it in 2021. Since then I have been working in real estate in Denver full time with over $3.5 million in real estate sold in the first six months of 2023.
I am most proud of what I have achieved so far in my professional career giving where I started. I am so grateful for the progression of my life and I can’t wait to help more people buy and sell real estate and build their wealth through home ownership and real estate investment.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I go by @THC_Samuel on Instagram, YouTube and other platforms and over the years I have made a conscious effort to put out content that resonates with me and my audience. I am grateful for the 19,000+ who follow me and my journey on Instagram and my best advice to those working to build an audience is to be consistent and to constantly offer value to those who follow you. I answer every message and try to be as helpful, motivational or educational for those who follow me as possible so if you stick to being yourself and putting out good content, overtime your audience will grow.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Working hard = Working smart
I had to unlearn that lesson after years of watching my parents work really hard, for little to no reward. So I am always aware of my time and how much I am spending on an activity, task or anything in my life. When you work smarter, it allows you more freedom and time to live life doing the things you enjoy outside of work.
