We were lucky to catch up with Cloe Galasso recently and have shared our conversation below.
Cloe , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
One of the biggest risks that I took in my life was moving to NYC when i got stuck in USA during the 2021 pandemic lock down in Argentina. I had travelled to Miami to visit some family and as soon as we landed, we were informed Argentina had closed their frontiers. I decided to fly to NYC to work in my art there while i waited to be able to enter to my country again. It was a great leap of faith that, with a lot of hard work, dedication and constancy started giving its results.
Cloe , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1995 & raised by a Painter, Cloe Galasso generated a great interest in the visual and corporal environment. At the age of 21, she received a Master in Design in University of Palermo. She complimented her studies in a self-taught way exploring different disciplines such as acting, analog photography, sculpture, and new technologies in art and design, seeking to find her own way to fight against the lack of exposure of women in the art world.
In 2020, in the context of the pandemic, she was introduced to oil painting, becoming with sculpture, her favorite areas of work. Since then, she has shown her art in Buenos Aires, New York, London and Milan.
Currently, my work focuses mainly on the holistic study of energy. I am focused on using art as a means to investigate in depth the cosmic connection that exists between the universe, the planets, its stars, and the human being, who is just another member that makes up this whole system.
Within this constant investigation, I explored the portrait of this Energy with a multidisciplinary approach, painting, sculpture and digital art. Starting off with a sculptural practice, I explored the way to symbolize energy. Finally, I found a structure to which I could attribute these aspects in order to continue my study on how energy interpellates this world, entering to it, communicating, creating, working: Connecting the universe with each being that comprises it. Seeking to understand the energy of each place as a unique entity, as a portrait of the space it inhabits.
My goal is to be able to understand in what ways as humans we can gain awareness of this energy and be able to communicate everything learned to generate social consciousness about how this phenomena is capable of acting directly or indirectly onto our lives.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I feel the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is seeing the faces of everyone who comes to see the shows. Giving something to them through my art that they could carry with them forever. It could be a feeling, a smile, or an enjoyable evening of vivid conversation and connection.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
Most of the people i get the chance to talk to are interested in the area of arts. And, as it happened to me too, i feel there is a type of resistance to draw. paint, or create. In my view of things, this comes from a place of fear, and fear of the others opinions. Once we grow, people expect that if you are putting your pencil down on a paper you have to be able to create a masterpiece. For the ones that are still learning, this may seem like a huge struggle, and may enable them to seek their style or to practice enough. My only advice is never stop practicing. The only way to grow your artistic skills is to Buy a small sketchbook you can carry with you everywhere and do it as much as you can. You will notice how with time your hand remembers the movements and the lines become smoother.
