We were lucky to catch up with Niki Bisbee recently and have shared our conversation below.
Niki , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
I was raised in England by an English mother and Mexican father. I’m so grateful that I have wonderful parents, because I know that’s not the case for many. They did a lot right as parents, firstly they always encouraged and supported me in whatever I was interested in without any pressure. This gave me the freedom to explore and try new things. They were both hard working and instilled in me a strong work ethic. I had my first job at 15 and learned the value of money very quickly because I wasn’t given everything I wanted, thankfully.
Another area that impacted my future and career is that my mum prioritized feeding us real food and avoided processed foods, excess sugar and unnecessary pharmaceuticals (she used homeopathic medicines instead). We learned to cook from a young age and spent a lot of time in the kitchen together. This gave me a very strong, healthy foundation and love for healthy foods and cooking simple meals from scratch. This benefited me in many ways and it wasn’t until I strayed from it that I realized the profound impact real food has on people’s health.
When I moved to the U.S after college and started eating the standard American diet (much more processed), I slowly stared to develop health issues such as digestive symptoms, migraines, hormone issues, food sensitivities, seasonal allergies, chronic fatigue, anxiety and more. I sought help from a naturopath who helped me get back to eating real food and used specific supplements to get me healthy again. I quickly realized that what we eat can heal and can also cause disease. I noticed that many people I met here in the US suffered from daily symptoms like I had, and so I decided to become a Functional Nutritionist so I could help others in the same way I was helped.
Years later when I moved to Texas from California and lived unknowingly in a house with mold, I developed mold illness and my children started to get symptoms too. After remediating the house I was able to heal us all by using homeopathic medicine. I then realized that I wanted to become a homeopath to help people heal at a deeper level, so I went back to college for another 4 years. It has been the most rewarding career, as I see people from infants upwards, healing from all kinds of physical and emotional issues with this amazing and safe medicine and nutrition. I’m so grateful I get to do this every day and that my mum taught me the importance of taking responsibility for my health from a young age.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Niki Bisbee. I’m a Homeopath (LCHE) and Functional Nutritionist (FNTP). Originally from England, my home is now in Texas.
I help people heal on a physical, mental and emotional level with nutrition and homeopathy. I work with babies, children and adults of all ages and stages of life including pregnancy. I have a passion to empower others to take control of their health and that of their families. I offer in person and virtual consultations for Homeopathy and Nutrition.
I also teach classes for those who want to learn how to treat acute issues at home such as ear infections, colds/flu, stomach bugs, and much more.
My special interests are women and children’s health, hormone balance, gut dysfunction, anxiety and depression.
I grew up eating healthy home cooked meals, and had no health issues at all. When I moved to the U.S after college and started eating more of the standard American diet (more processed and sugary), I developed health problems such as hormone issues, chronic fatigue, digestive issues, food sensitivities, migraines, joint pains and more, all while in my early 20’s. With the help of naturopath who guided me back to eating real foods, and using targeted supplements, I got my health back again and healed from all of those ailments.
I later suffered from mold illness, and healed myself with homeopathy. All of this propelled me to become a Functional Nutritionist and Homeopath so I could help others heal.
Homeopathy has been around for over 200 years and has stood the test of time. It works by stimulating your body to heal itself, and in doing so uproots issues of all kinds including mental/emotional not only physical, as it’s connected. It brings the body and mind back to a place of balance and restored health. Because it’s so safe, it can be used on infants and pregnant women too.
I see the majority of my patients virtually via video chat, but also have an office in Addison, TX where I see many of my local patients.
Using nutrition and homeopathy to help babies, children, and people of all ages heal from acute and chronic health issues has been so rewarding and an amazing blessing. I feel so privileged to do this work every day.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Word of mouth has been the most effective way of growing my clientele. When one mother shares with another how her child’s eczema has gone, or how her child’s behavioral issues have greatly improved, or couples with fertility issue who finally become pregnant, and other stories of healing. This sparks interest in others who are suffering in a similar way. Referrals from happy patients is truly the way my business has grown the most. It can be helpful to ask clients if they’d write a review, but even without that when someones life has changed for the better it comes out and people notice.
Another way I have attracted clients is through sharing free information on social media. Giving away quality educational material that benefits people has helped me grow my business. It doesn’t even have to be very frequent, but it has to be hight quality and truly helpful to the types of problems they might be facing. For me that looks like sharing homeopathic remedies for common childhood issues that parents can use easily at home. Or nutrition tips, and general life style tips for optimal health. When they try them and see that they work, it builds trust.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
I think compassion and empathy for others’s suffering is big one. Having had my own physical and emotional health challenges has given me such a great understanding of how it feels to be in that place of hopelessness and of desperation to feel better.
Experience is key. As a mother and now grandmother I can empathize with just how challenging parenting can be, and adding health issues on top whether for the parent or child brings that difficulty to a new level. I’ve been on both sides of that, so can offer not only hope and the tools to heal, but also a listening ear that truly understand the pain and suffering the individual is experiencing even if it looks slightly different than my own.
Sometimes just sharing that burden in the consultation can be very healing especially when met with a listing and understanding ear.
