Patrikk, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
One of the biggest trends of today that has changed the industry is social media. In a way social media gives a lot of people exposer that they would have probably never seen before. It’s great to be able to showcase your work to the masses for free. I think more people should take advantage of this. So many people have changed their live with social media. I think this is amazing free tool for marketing and getting your self out there.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hard work always pays off. When first starting in the beauty industry I would take every client I could to get myself out there. Always building new relationships and talking to new people. I think when biulding trust with someone that helps in getting more clients. I have always stayed true to myself and provided excellent customer service. Being a person that is able to do Hair, Makeup and babering really sets me apart from the competition. I always have work because I’m able to execute all three. Also if I’m not available I always find my clients a great alternative person so they know they can always count on me. This also has me to network with other professionals in my industry and stay getting calls for work. Networking is key to being successful in the beauty industry.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
When first being to work after high school I went straight into the corporate world. I had always had a passion for beauty but was never shown it could be a real career. While I was “successful” in corporate America I was still not fulfilled. This lead me to taking a leap out on faith and deciding to got into beauty full time. I left my job and moved across the country to live my dream of working in tv and film. I went to the best cosmetology institute in La for training and put my all into my craft. I didn’t know exactly how things were going to go but I knew failure was not an option. So I hustled to get new clients and get my name out there. Before finishing school I was booking set jobs and working in a know salon. From there I continued to build my clientele and then got my first celebrity client that helped get me more notoriety.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What has helped me to build my reputation in my industry professionalism. Every job or client I take I treat like it could be my last. I never take a job for granted. I always bring great energy and provide the best service I can. I love what I do. To make people look good makes them feel good. So I always keep my client first and making sure that they are happy with whatever service I am providing
