Hi Marissa, thanks for joining us today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?

I honestly have never been happier in my career, but every so often I’ll get that feeling of being so overwhelmed and almost like I’m drowning in my responsibilities and wonder what it would be like to do something else…. And every single time I think there’s literally nothing else I could see myself doing. This is what I was born to do and I get so much joy out of making people feel good and looking good :)

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I started young doing hair. My first official clients were my Barbie’s and my grandma. She was always my biggest supporter and forever letting me do her hair. I truly love being my own boss, and all of the hustle and bustle and having to push myself daily. I love being behind the chair and you can always find me in my studio or out traveling doing wedding parties! Bridal hair has been becoming more and more of my passion. I offer color, women and men’s cuts, extensions and bridal/special occasion hair.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

I honestly think I want to make everyone happy and I’m going to work as hard as possible all of the time to do so. I’m always willing to help another artist if they need back up or helping clients and stay longer hours to get everything done.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

The main source of new clientele for me has always been referrals from current clients. That’s one of the best feelings knowing that I have clients that love what I do and trusting me with their hair and telling their families and friends
