We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Curtis Redding a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Curtis, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I was working as a chef in a boarding school and there were so many fruits and vegetables going to waste and as lover of juice I decided to play around with them and come up with some healthy juice options. Unfortunately, I’ve lost a few loved ones due to cancer including my beloved Grandmother and wanted to come up with healthy juice options. I’m also a father and I wanted to give my children healthier drink options. My juices were solving the problem of getting not just kids but adults to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into their diet. I knew my cold pressed juices would work because the flavor combinations are not only unique but great tasting, Taking the risk of quitting my 9 to 5 and becoming my own boss was what excited me the most about becoming a business owner

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a trained chef and worked in the restaurant industry for 8 years before I started my business. I sell cold pressed juices that are all natural, have no added sugar and no preservatives. What you see on the label of my bottle is what is inside the bottle. My unique juice blends is what set me apart. I take things like bell pepper and add them to a juice and come up with a healthy, delicious drink. I’m most proud of how far my business has come. From selling juices out of my kitchen to selling juice at one of the largest festivals on the East Coast. I want my potential customers, clients, followers and fan to know that we put our blood, sweat and tears into each and every juice we make.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I have built my social media following from the ground up. Posting behind the scenes, and posting pictures and videos of our events. Our business is a small family operated business so posting pictures of the kids working at events as well. My advice to anyone trying to build a social media following is to stay true to yourself and your brand. Also, show your face. Customers want to see the face behind the brand. Posts with our faces in them do way better than posts of just our products

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
The fact that my juice tastes great helped to build my reputation but also my customer service. In a world where customer service is somewhat extinct we provide excellent customer service. A good business owner knows that customer service is EVERYTHING. Word of mouth has also hugely helped build our reputation. In my opinion word of mouth is the best marketing tool.
