We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Clifford Blanquicet Jr a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Clifford, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When you were first starting out, did you join a firm or start your own?
I started with a firm to learn but all the owner did was “train” me for 4 hours and that included lunch and then said go get it. So I did. But when we started Blanq we wanted more attention to the brokers and feed the opportunities more to learn.
Clifford, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started as a property manager/janitor/handyman/roofer/leasing agent for 100,000 SF of old retail and office. I learned A LOT. Then became a broker, then broker owner then investor and now mentor to many. I learned by hands on and hard work, I think everyone needs to earn their opportunities. That hard work has led to many awards and titles but I am most proud to be a SIOR at the age of 32.
