We were lucky to catch up with Lys Vang recently and have shared our conversation below.

Lys, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

Since I was very young, I’ve had this desire to become a model. When I was just a little girl, my mother often entered me in beauty pageants. I loved being pampered and posing! So, I think it’s because of that, that I naturally developed this desire to become a model.

As I grew up, I created my social media accounts and started amateur modeling, mainly through collaborations with Instagram photographers. Gradually, I began to shift towards the professional side of modeling.

My name is Lys, and I am a professional model represented by a reputable agency. Allow me to share a bit about myself and my journey in this industry.

From a young age, I was captivated by the world of fashion and beauty. As I grew older, I delved into the modeling world by creating a strong presence on social media. Through collaborations with talented photographers on platforms like Instagram, I honed my skills and built a portfolio that caught the attention of industry professionals.

As a professional model, I offer a range of services and creative works to my clients. From runway shows to editorial shoots, I bring versatility and a unique style to every project I undertake. How did you build your audience on social media?

I built my audience through diligence and creativity. It’s all about being consistent, creative, and focusing on the target audience. It’s also important to consider the social media algorithm, understand how it works, and leverage it to gain visibility

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?

As a model, I believe there are several ways society can best support artists, creatives, and foster a thriving creative ecosystem. Firstly, it’s crucial to recognize and value the artistic contributions made by individuals in the industry. This can be done by promoting diversity and inclusivity, embracing different artistic expressions, and celebrating the unique perspectives that artists bring to the table.

Providing accessible platforms and opportunities for artists to showcase their work is equally important. This can involve organizing exhibitions, fashion shows, and events that highlight the talents of artists and creatives. Additionally, supporting art education and providing resources for emerging artists to develop their skills and knowledge would greatly contribute to the growth of the creative community.

Furthermore, society can play a significant role by promoting fair compensation and equitable treatment for artists. This includes ensuring that artists receive proper recognition, royalties, and protection of their intellectual property rights.
