We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jarrett Adlof. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jarrett below.
Hi Jarrett, thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
So I originally started my label when my prior band was on the way to calling it quits. We had a lot of success and also made a lot of mistakes. I wanted to start a local to DFW, TX to help new artists get their music out and do it the right way!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I own a record label and we specialize in the PR and Distribution of Pop Punk/Alternative artists and bands. We have worked with multiple artists in the four years we’ve been around and every one of our artists had more streams on their Spotify during the time they were with us, vs when they weren’t!
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
So my old band Offended by Everything was signed and touring. Towards the end I knew I needed to be home with family more but also couldn’t leave music, so that was the initial idea of Palm Mute Records.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Social Media is both amazing and awful. It’s so much easier to promote now vs. burning cd’s and passing them out. Which I love.
Also, just ignore the negativity that comes with it.
