We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Elijah Smith. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Elijah below.
Alright, Elijah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I believe hard work and dedication is most important and actually believing in your dream. I think only you can be as successful as believe you can be…. Understanding that its only a Plan A and no Plan B. The plan to be successful should be the only plan you have.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I always wanted to design my own clothing while I was in high school, but I didn’t know how to get started. People would frequently inquire whether I had a brand or was planning to launch one because I was always interested in streetwear and fashion in general.
To briefly fast-forward, during my first year of college, we were sent home because to the COVID 19 epidemic. Since I was stuck at home for a while, I reasoned that I should make the most of the free time. So I made the decision to launch Set Studios, my creative business.
In the summer of 2020, I founded Set Studios Creative Company. On October 10th, 2020, I created and sold my first t-shirt and also ran and creatively directed the promo on my own . Over time I continued to creative direct my the promo behind my releases and I feel like that took me to another level in my community.
My friends have brands and such as well and I started to direct there promo campaigns

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My Grandfather passing away this year has really shaped and given me better purpose as to the sense of direction I want to go in. Early on in my creative career I honestly just wanted people to understand me throughout my art without me telling them. But from the time I’ve started to now I think I’ve been through a-lot in regards to a personal level and the art that I produce is just an example of my growth, trial and error, and many other things. My goal now is to just stay consistent with my artwork and give my consumers more from me.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think because I do so much in regards to my art and not just one form I’m not viewed in only one aspect of art. I am a film photographer, creative director, and brand owner. So I would say I can’t be put into one category, I can do many things within the market.
