We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Shraddha Chauhan a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Shraddha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
What do you think it takes to be successful?
Successful- everyone has a different definition of it, it’s up to you how you define your success, for some people gaining a lot of money is success , for a scientist innovating something new could be successful and some people are happy and they feel successful.
For me, the path to reaching my dreams or to be successful, requires DFDP(determination, focus, dedication and passion) in terms of your self-development, and to push your limits hard enough to deliver, to achieve and to find your happiness against all odds.
Do you have any stories or anecdotes that illustrate your point or how you developed your view?
(Stories, i love the stories, is always amazed me, i certainly have one for myself :),
It begins in my masters. Before graduating my masters, I graduated in love and got the highest degree of love, I married Yayy.
In India, we have different cultures. Marriages are as beautiful as you can imagine at the same time they can be as dramatic as you do not want them to be.
My love marriage was full of emotion, drama, sentiments and last but not least romance, ya-ya, It was a whole package for an Indian movie(s), (story to tell some other time 🙂).
Best part of my story begins right after marriage as I got pregnant; however, it’s a complicated pregnancy, which forced me to take 5 months of strict bed rest. I have to resign from my job and it doesn’t stop here, I had a month premature delivery and was blessed with a baby boy.
New blessings/life changed my life beautifully but more dramatically. Now I have landed in the situation where I have to choose between my career vs motherhood.
I chose to stay with my kiddo and devoted almost 3 years to cherish and blossom my motherhood.
Those 3 magical years pass through quickly, and I want to restart my work passion but those years lacked me in terms of technology and professionalism.
It took a lot of effort and determination to rejuvenate my knowledge. My hard work and dedication paid off and within 2 months I was back on track, restarted my career as Microsoft .Net Developer in a well known company.
To be successful — stay focused, determined and go with your 100%

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi Y’all!!
My name: Shraddha Chauhan
Birth Place : Kanpur, India
Where do I live : Austin, Tx
My profession: Fashion Model , Social media influencer and Sr, Software engineer.
My dreams : My dream to travel the world and keep inspiring/influencing my fans with creating fashion/beauty/travel contents .
how you got into your industry:
Since childhood I wanted to be a model but it was not a feasible career to choose as I belonged to a brahmin family and that’s not the career I was supposed to choose.
I came to Bhopal, INDIA to get my masters degree in computer science.
And as i mentioned earlier before graduating masters, I graduated in love, got married and had my baby boy.
After devoting 3 magically beautiful years (24/7) for my son, with all my collective and collaborative (family, dream, technology and profession) determination I re-started my career as a Microsoft .Net Developer.
Soon, we moved to Milwaukee, USA (as my husband’s job transfer) and again after being an immigrant it was kind of a restart, with efforts and months of waiting for a work visa, finally I got into a Software Developer job. That was the time I got introduced and performed in a cultural show, opened my instagram account and started my modelling and influencer career.
I approached to ramp walk for celebrity designer event Neeta lulla’s NIFT in houston and there on continued my journey as a Model in NYFW (Newyork Fashion Week), Ramp walked in Ms. Universe “Harnaz Sindhu”, Houston event , AFW and many more.
I have been interviewed on local TV channels and been published in magazines along with international newspapers.
Has been part of many photoshoots, done commercials for local brand products , created product content for many national/ international brands and for many Amazon/Temu products as well.
What type of products/services/creative works you provide:
Mostly clothing fashion, lifestyles, home and travel.
What you think sets you apart from others:
My determination, passion, creativity and ready to accept new challenges for what I do.
What are you most proud of:
The love, support and encouragement I have created with my followers community. Most importantly, positive vibes and inspiration I added to my followers’ lives. It makes me feel proud of myself and my achievements.
What are the main things you want potential clients/followers/fans to know about you/your brand/your work/ etc.:
I would like to say -I am determined to provide the best, high quality and ethical content that shares love and positive vibes, last but not least I believe in healthy and long term relationships.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Building up your social media audience really just requires consistency, communication to your online audience and your passion should be visible to others.
My advice – Learn what hashtags to use and try to join different engagement groups for influencers although I haven’t been part of them and just joined. Target a specific audience that engages with your creativity and pampers what you create.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being a creator/influencer is to inspire, empower and create confidence in others, as sometimes people don’t believe or see it’s possible.
Being a creator is continuous hard work but extremely rewarding, most importantly you do not have to bind in the boundaries of location and time and it gives me happiness when I get not only appreciation but see them smile and inspire.
You can be your own model that the whole world will be watching.
