We recently connected with Katherine Suarez and have shared our conversation below.
Katherine, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I chose this question because it was only later in my life when leaving the corporate life, that I found my sense of purpose. I never realized how much envisioning my legacy would help me design the second chapter of my life, and be the founding pillar in designing a business in alignment with who I truly was.
Today, I hope to be remembered for doing the same for others.
“She was a a Soul Whisperer, she helped women truly know themselves guiding them to connect the dots around their personal unique genius and design a business aligned to their why.”
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
After working for over 20 years leading digital initiatives in the fashion and outdoor industries, I founded Nomad Atelier, inspired by my own journey in redesigning my life and building the business I desired.
“I still can’t imagine my life today if I had not had the courage to take that leap of faith, leave corporate life, and follow my passions. I had no idea that I would need to lose my job to discover who I really was and that I would take a sabbatical year exploring remote places and making time to connect with my different worlds around my passions, natural talents, skills, and experiences. I started learning to see beyond my limiting beliefs and tap into my unique gift.”
Finding that clarity and guidance in those moments of transition was essential in my path to becoming an entrepreneur, something I had never imagined for myself. It was from this personal experience that I envisioned and founded Nomad Atelier, to help others dream bigger and design a soulful business aligned to who they really are.
Today, I help aspiring entrepreneurs, forward-looking brands and solopreneurs learn how to slow down, refocus and design meaningful, lifestyle-led businesses. Everything I do has a bespoke approach — from one-on-one client sessions and group mentoring programs, to carefully tailored workshops around the world to help others design a purpose-driven business and curated brand experience with their unique signature.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
While many of my clients are referral-based, I believe owning my voice, unique visual style, and unique approach has truly helped me grow my clientele and more importantly attract my ideal clients. Often people talk about what to do from the outside but I think it’s important to also share my learnings behind the scenes. Here are a few things I did in my business that really helped me grow and shift my mindset:
/ Saying “NO” to clients who weren’t the right fit was a tough decision at first. As an entrepreneur, it’s natural to worry about the potential revenue lost. However, I learned that prioritizing alignment with ideal clients brings about greater opportunities for growth and fulfillment. Walking away from draining or unappreciative clients was a pivotal step in allowing myself to play a bigger game.
/ Learning to ‘Let go of offerings’ was a significant step for me. Initially, I hesitated to streamline my offerings, fearing that clients might not afford higher-priced items. But as I embraced what I loved most and redesigned my offerings with fewer choices, I found that it not only elevated the client experience but also made decision-making easier for them, resulting in better outcomes and less admin work for my team.”
/ Cultivating a “Clear unique signature” has been one of the most powerful tools in helping me hone in on what truly sets me apart. Sharing what makes me distinct allows people to connect with the essence of my brand and the experience I offer. This authenticity not only resonates with potential clients but also deepens their desire to be part of something special and exclusive.
/ Confidently ‘showing my expertise and owning my voice’ has been undeniably instrumental in building credibility. I’ve launched freebies around my passions and business learnings and have also offered free courses and workshops that not only provide space to ask me questions but also offer a glimpse into the community.”

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I initially started my entrepreneurial journey, I launched Nomad Atelier as my creative space. It served as a platform for me to wear my curator hat and host workshops with guest speakers and teachers in beautiful, off-the-grid locations around the world. Simultaneously, I started my Consulting studio for business advising in marketing, e-commerce, etc.
However, as time went on, I came to realize that I wasn’t working with my ideal clients in KSConsulting. I was only working with those who I believed could afford my services. The women who attended my “Nomad Atelier workshops” were the clients I truly desired to help. They were solopreneurs who shared a passion for design and sought to elevate their businesses while infusing more meaning into their work and embracing their authentic voices. Little by little, I was starting to help build brands that were deeply connected to the purpose and vision of their founders.
This realization prompted me to make a significant decision. I decided to merge all everything under the umbrella of “Nomad Atelier,” bringing together bespoke experiences, business mentoring, and branding into one cohesive company. I learned that there is always a clientele for the vision we hold; we simply need to believe in it and plan how to bring it to life. I am grateful that I listened to my intuition and trusted my vision. Today, I feel incredibly fortunate to attract these women into the inspiring Nomad World.
