Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Andrea Glenn. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Andrea, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on is my first music EP titled “METANOIA”. I started this project back in 2020 during a peak in my spiritual journey. I questioned my existence, my purpose, my passion and if a generational curse was present in my family. It brought a lot of subconscious fears, ambitions, suppressed thoughts and memories to the surface which caused me to analyze all of it. I realized that my mind was very different and that I had deeper connection to the universe that I was able to tap in to. To me this experience was super meaningful because it allowed me to understand myself better and the personal power I was capable of.
Andrea, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Andrea and I’m a 27 year old artist, writer, author and mother from Cleveland OH. I started writing music and poems around 5 years old, and I also dabble in a little bit of music production. Being a mother and an aspiring artist has taught me the essence of time, practical movement, and decision making. I realized that my dreams are still just as important to give energy to not just for myself but for my daughter too. I can’t be a parent encouraging her to follow her dreams if I’m not following mine. I’m most proud of my will to push forward while being a single parent and creating a lane for myself in the industry. My content is very unique and I’ve learned to value my perspective over time though it’s not sought or understood by masses. I’ve fallen in love with the honesty, truth, and personal complexity in my sound..
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
I wish I knew about communities like HRDRV earlier in my creative journey. It allows creatives to collaborate, learn, and overall advance in their career. You have access to so many resources, sync opportunists, writing camps, and calls that you participate in. I feel like I would be so much more knowledgeable and established as a creative if I knew about them sooner.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the creative expression and ability I have. I love being able to take a feeling and converting it into a song or a poem. I love the process of breaking down an experience into lyrics, a melody, and even watching it unfold into a beat. It’s the overall process of taking something from an internal realm and manifesting it into sonic form and visual digestion.
