Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jesse Procaccini. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jesse, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Have you signed with an agent or manager? Why or why not?
Last summer I was approached by Seth Hyman of Negative Progression Records. He was interested in hearing some demos I was working on and possibly signing me to the label. He had found me on Instagram and heard my song One Last Goodbye which was becoming our biggest song. After sending him a few songs to listen to he immediately was attracted to Baltimore. The song is about the city of Baltimore, where we are based out of as a band. Also featured on it is my friend Ben Dehan who is another pop punk artist in Maryland. In October, Seth signed me to NPR and we headed to Richmond, Virginia to record Baltimore plus another song called Next Best Thing. We recorded with Will Beasley and our mix/masters were done by Paul Leavitt. Both Will and Paul are well known in the pop punk genre. Both songs were released on March 10th, 2023 and have become highlights of our live shows. Signing with Negative Progression Records gave us the ability to work with some heavy hitters in our genre. The label also pressed 7 inch vinyl singles which are available on Negative Progression’s website or through us at a live show.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
The Last Second Save is the pop punk music project of Jesse Procaccini. It was started in 2011 after moving to Maryland from New Jersey. Until 2020, the project wasn’t playing live music but only recording and gaining online momentum. In 2020 The Last Second Save brought in Damian (Guitars), John (Drums) and Andrew (Bass) to bring the music alive. The band is now playing live shows and recording new songs. The musical ideas still transpire from Jesse but the other band members bring input and talent bringing the songs to life.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Having people attend our live shows has been the best support we could ask for. Being able to meet fans and hear people singing the songs has brought us a lot of joy. The messages we’ve received saying that a song impacted them in a positive way has been amazing as well. Support local music!!!
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My mission behind the music is to impact as many people as I can. My songs revolve around love, loss, breakups and resilience. The goal is for people to relate to the songs and help them live a better life.
