We were lucky to catch up with JayLynn McDaniel recently and have shared our conversation below.

JayLynn , appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

My journey in the Bridal/ Wedding Industry started a decade ago. I fell in love with all things weddings and bridal very early on- daydreaming and fantasizing about my own wedding. The logistics, the details, the beauty, the allure, the pure love and magic that lasts a lifetime- there’s just something so special and honorable about it. I am a licensed and insured full service event planner with coordination experience across all industries but weddings are my specialty. I service brides and grooms all over Colorado and I’m available for travel! Planning, coordinating, and having a keen eye for detail are among some of my specialties. I combine my creative aesthetic talents, my organizational skills, and my execution abilities to create magic! I believe that you should have the freedom to treasure every moment of your celebration.
I find purpose in helping bring together your loved ones for unforgettable moments joined together in love, beauty, and intention. I understand my bride and groom’s needs and desires to ensure that your day goes as seamlessly and perfectly as possible. I handle the details of your big day so that you can focus on the memories!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is JayLynn. I’m the Owner and Creator of two businesses now, Weddings by Jay as well as CandlesbyJay. I’ve always been a creative soul with an entrepreneurial spirit. I started off in the bridal industry with a background in cosmetics, jewelry sales, bridal consulting and event planning. I just love LOVE and all aspects of it, especially the celebration part. Your unique love should be celebrated and expressed beautifully and personally to you. My wedding planning and coordination services cater to every bride/ groom in every stage with every style. I offer all inclusive and customized planning and co0rdinating services that begin as soon as you book me and my team! I’m the show runner so that my couples can be the show stoppers! I really take the time to get to know my couples, understand their needs and bring their vision to life. I offer budget and task management, wedding design, vendor contract review and management, complete wedding planning, rehearsal & wedding day coordination and so much more!

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect to me is taking a step back and viewing my weddings from an eagle’s eye perspective and just feeling so proud and incredibly happy with what I’ve been able to help create and execute. Feeling so relieved that I solved problems before they even came to the surface. To see my client’s on cloud nine – enjoying their beautiful day with no stress is everything to me. The love, the energy, the smiles, the hugs, the joy that I witness from the bridal party and guests of the wedding is so memorable to me and makes my heart glow. The gratitude from my brides and their families after the wedding is also so amazing. It’s also rewarding to just continue to evolve in my craft and become better as I learn.

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?

As a wedding planner, you learn to go with the flow and adapt/ adjust to last minute changes gracefully and with elegance while still maintaining a successful event- I view my life this way. To remain fluid, you must learn how to swim to keep from drowning. You are resourceful and you are able to think quick on your feet. I’ve owned businesses for the last 4 years now and I recently made the decision to pursue my passions 100%. I made this decision because I knew that there was so much more life and potential for me beyond a regular 9-5 job. I realized that I do thrive as my own boss and I was wasting so much time working 40+ hours a week for an employer where I wasn’t happy or fulfilled. I had to make a choice- do I continue to live on autopilot or do I take a chance on myself to invest my energy in a direction that I will grow/ glow to my vision and value in life. The key milestones for me involved consistency, persistency, perfecting and just having some faith. We are all on some sort of pursuit of happiness and I took this opportunity to chase my dreams.
