We were lucky to catch up with Leanne Holitza recently and have shared our conversation below.
Leanne, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
A lot of healers get trapped into thinking they should be a non-profit or just give their time and energy away. I started off that way and quickly found that made no sense, nor did it help my clients to think that way. What I offer is valuable and I can do wonders for your life (even more so than that expensive hair treatment)!
Once I embraced that, I started to take responsibility for really hosting my clients in my business and space. I owned up to what it took to run this type of business, be the person I am, every day for my clients, and gave value to what my clients need, which is a grounded, business-minded, energy healer. I focus just as much on keeping the business going as on doing the healing. That makes sure I am around for years to come, to give the services you value so much.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
I suppose there are made-up titles in every role. But for simplicity, let’s call me an energy healer.
Let me try and sum it up in simple terms. I am first a healer, which basically means I make space and love in my life to make sure you have room to heal what you are working with. We all have “stuff” to work on. I have a unique ability to “see” that stuff and “talk to” that stuff and begin to understand why it sticks around in your system and then start to figure out how to get it to move out.
I do this with a unique energy awareness technique that I naturally developed and now teach to others. It involves learning to quiet the talker in your head and engage the listener. I have the listener reach out to my clients and listen to their deepest needs.
Second, I am a teacher, only because I am asked to be, but glad to do it to help people learn to see themselves differently and shift into who they came here to be.
Once I figured out this is what I am here to do, I founded Insightful Inspirations in 2007 and The Healing Studio in 2015. The Healing Studio is not only a place for me to work out of but also a place to create a space for this work and to expand for myself and other natural healers. More recently, I started channeling an amazing team of masters called The Light Council. They started demanding public attention just before the pandemic and boy are their messages relevant!
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I have a Master’s degree in Business. I worked for corporate. So much corporate! I was taught to do that, so I did. I got in there, I killed the numbers. I made things pop where there was doubt, and always I was met with all kinds of preprogrammed beliefs and ideas. I mean I was basically killing myself for these people and they were like “meh” because I didn’t fit the profile. I was, get ready for it…too nice. Ever heard that before?
So I started my side gig as a reader at a metaphysical shop. Everyone in my life, including my husband was ready to say “Grrrrl you have lost it.” But they all waited patiently to watch me unfold my next chapter. They were probably more patient than I. I started using metaphysical tools to shift things and, get this, it worked!
I manifested myself to get laid off. I was so freaked out. I struggled so much over the idea of it. The rejection, the fear, the hurt of all I had put into my job just to be unappreciated. Then I heard a little voice saying “Go do you!” I was so scared to do that and manifested a bunch of crazy experiences that supported me to be where I am now. It has been a surprising and healing journey.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Referrals. Oddly, I had a client who was afraid to refer me because once the word got out, I would be hard to book with. When I heard this I thought, “What?!” But now I understand. I can be hard to book with. I am glad she saw my worth before I did.
Don’t be afraid to offer incentives for referrals but also be smart about it. Discounted samples can work sometimes, but be careful not to undervalue yourself. Some people who can’t pay you don’t have friends who can either. You are worth it, so don’t devalue yourself. If you have a cause you love to give to, you can offer certificates to those galas, etc. But mostly, just work with the people you like and who value you.
Also, once you establish that you are good at what you do, establish a fair price. Working for yourself isn’t just about the service or product, it takes so much more time and energy than that. I actually do better when I raise my prices. People understand that I am worth it. We both get value out of it, I don’t end up resenting my job and my client feels they got their money’s worth.
