Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Virgilio Cerda. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Virgilio, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
The story of how I came up with the idea for my creative services business is a journey filled with passion, determination, and a deep desire to express myself through multimedia. Dreams alone are not enough. I knew that in order to turn my passion into a successful business, I needed to have a solid foundation of skills and knowledge. I dedicated countless hours to studying and practicing while also learning from mistakes. As my skills improved, so did my confidence. I began taking on small freelance projects, working with friends, family, and local businesses. Each assignment allowed me to further develop as an artist. I gained a deeper understanding of composition, storytelling, and post-production techniques.
Learning the power of visual storytelling to create a lasting impression and evoke emotions. I realized that by offering my services, I could help individuals and businesses communicate their messages effectively, evoke desired emotions, and establish a strong visual identity. This gave me confidence that I could make something out of nothing, something being my multimedia business.

Virgilio, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Expressing the creative part of myself has always been a big part of my identity. I’ve always loved pushing my own limits and seeing what is birthed from it. Back in grade school, I was given a box of arts and crafts. I remember taking advantage of all the supplies that were included in this box, and my teachers commenting on how talented I was. That was the first time I remember feeling set apart from the other children because of what I could easily create.
When I was 13, I got my first camera. It was a very low end camera, of course, but i would do vlogs on it where i would show the studio i had made for myself. Shortly after that, I was introduced to poetry. It’s an art form that expresses so much, and it quickly became a passion of mine. I learned to convert my poetry into lyrics and then lyrics into sound, which inspired me to learn audio. I think of the audio track as the poetry of that piece.
But basically, I realized that I liked making art in many forms, from music to poetry to visual art, my passion for creating was always something I enjoyed submerging myself in.
I think what makes us really stand apart is the focus on having a genuine connection with the client. I like being able to speak to the individual I am working with and guide them through the creative process, whether it’s photo, audio, or video. I take the time to understand who my client is, and what my client wants. Nothing is cookie cutter or one size fits all.
Working with someone is a chance to help them to be heard or seen in a way that maybe they can’t be heard or seen by themselves. I like being able to bring the person into the process so that when they see the finished project, they know that I saw them on a deep level and helped them translate their essence into this art that we essentially created together. My favorite part is seeing their reactions and enjoying that special moment of accomplishment when I show them the finished product. That really lights me up.
Our Vision is to make it accessible for anyone to find a voice for creativity, whatever artistic form it takes.
I’ve been through a lot of hardships in my life; it’s been quite the journey to get to the place I’m at now. Being an addict in recovery, and a felon, I didn’t have the opportunity that others do. Sometimes it felt like all the doors were closed to me. So that’s why my vision is to help others to find their own voice and to give them the opportunity to do so freely. There is salvation in the creative process, I really believe that. It’s a journey of discovery and rebuilding in a new direction … whatever direction we choose. That’s the creative power. It’s transformed my life, and I believe it can transform us individually and as a culture if we let it

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz because it has transformed me spiritually. It teaches powerful lessons that have deeply impacted how I think and live. It’s a book that has touched my heart and soul, guiding me towards a more fulfilling and enlightened path.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
It all started with a small photoshoot for a friend, for which I only charged $15. From there I began to receive calls and people reaching out to me. The outcome of that $15 photoshoot was incredible.. At that point I knew that what I was doing was being recognized, so I began to study photo and video. I also began to work with freelancers, and while I was out working on a project, I would contact them and let them know about the opportunity, and this began to create a synergy in the work that took on a life of its own. Equipment is not cheap & mastering is not easy. I think obtaining tools and gaining more experience will always be that milestone I look forward to.
