Hi Jaeda, thanks for joining us today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?

I often find myself comparing the life I have created to what I would have had if I never followed my passions. My summer schedule seems to be a perfect example. This summer, I have taken my content career to the next level. I am working as a content creator for a well-known physical therapy chain with locations across Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. It all started when I shadowed a physical therapist a few summers ago, which made me see the potential of working in that environment. Later, while a patient at one of the locations, I noticed the PTs were struggling with creating and posting content on social media. I suggested that I could be their content creator, relieving them of the burden and allowing them to focus on their patients. I reached out to the CEO of the business, who loved the idea and created a position for me. Now, I rotate between PT locations, capturing and creating content, running social media platforms, and helping with other media needs.
Another opportunity I created is with a local Baltimore coffee shop. Over the years, I had organized content days at the coffee shop, capturing content for both their social media and my own. I approached the owner and suggested being hired as a content creator while also being trained as a barista. The owner saw the potential and loved the idea and I have been working there regularly this summer, both creating content and coffee.
While balancing these two jobs, I also make time for my own social media, create content for other brands, consult with businesses, attend influencer events, and enjoy personal activities. I am grateful for the opportunities I have pursued and the future I am building for myself.
