Angelica & Gianluca, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?

Before the inception of Studio Nola, we, as individuals, had already established thriving companies within our respective industries. However, it was in 2021 when our paths aligned, and we decided to combine forces to tackle ambitious, large-scale projects together. The outcome was beyond our expectations—successful presentations, productive meetings, and a drive that fueled our creativity. Recognizing the potential of our partnership, we embarked on a journey to transform our collaboration into a joint venture, culminating in the launch of Studio Nola in early 2023.

The birth of Studio Nola posed a significant risk: abandoning our prior company brands and embracing a new identity. Additionally, we transitioned from being sole proprietors to business partners, a decision that required us to relinquish some control. Nevertheless, our unwavering belief and our motivation made us take this leap of faith. We knew that by leveraging our individual strengths and working cohesively, we could propel our business to new heights and bring our shared vision to life.

As we reflect on the initial months of Studio Nola’s existence, we are thrilled by the remarkable success we have achieved thus far. Not only have we surpassed our own expectations, but we also appreciate the risks we took in letting go of our past businesses to embark on this dynamic partnership. It is through our combined efforts that Studio Nola has thrived, solidifying our belief that the decision to unite our expertise was the right one.

Studio Nola was created by both of us.

Notably, he holds a license with the OTPQ (Ordre des technologues professionnels du Québec) and boasts extensive project management experience. In his role, Gianluca assumes the pivotal responsibility of overseeing all technical drawings, specifications, and 3D renderings. With a meticulous eye for detail and a deep understanding of construction principles, he ensures that every aspect of the design is translated flawlessly into reality. Gianluca’s keen attention to accuracy and his ability to effectively coordinate various project elements make him an invaluable asset to our team, ensuring that every project is executed with precision and excellence.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.

The idea and creation of Studion Nola goes back all the way to 2020 when Angelica was in search of an architectural technologist to assist with a potential home extension project and came across Gianluca’s impressive portfolio and reached out to him for his expertise. Once the plans for the home extension were completed, our professional paths initially diverged, and we went our separate ways.

Coincidentally, we found ourselves at the same design community event shortly after. It was during this event that we reconnected and realized the potential of our collaboration, with that idea we embarked on bigger projects together. The synergy between our design philosophies, our shared passion for creating exceptional spaces, and our mutual desire to make a lasting impact in the industry were undeniable.

From that point forward, Studio Nola was born. Our shared history, coupled with the alignment of our values and aspirations, laid the foundation for our successful partnership. Since then, we have been working tirelessly to bring our creative vision to life, crafting unique and inspiring spaces for our clients.
