TY-44, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s talk about innovation. What’s the most innovative thing you’ve done in your career?
I started off as an independent musician, however after a year, I began to have interests in modeling. I began to collaborate with upcoming streetwear brands. I saw músic and fashion as synonymous, and I saw it as my responsibility to try to merge the two as closely as possible. This helped my music career in great ways. I’ve collaborated with brands such as Bive Culture, The bagchaser club, Vigilant &Virtuous, and so many more. Them putting N.e. on a pedestal for their thousands of followers to see really has made a difference in my music career, and also have opened numerous doors for me in the world of fashion and modeling.
TY-44, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is TY-44, I’m a recording artist/ model. I have close to 2 million streams on Spotify alone and have collaborated with over 20 of the most up and coming clothing brands from coast to coast. My name rings bells in the underground music community and in various fashion spaces. I’m most known for my most popular singles “Didn’t Kno”, “Gretzky”, and “Adderall”. I’ve been recording and releasing music for going on 4 years now and have been modeling professionally for just under a year. My music is described as atmospheric and spacey. My fans are most excited for my upcoming album that is set to release in September or October.
How did you build your audience on social media?
For anyone who has had to jumpstart their business on social media, you know, that is not an easy thing to do. Social media has never been something I put a lot of energy into, however I made sure to do my best to have a strong appearance on social media so my fans can always have a way to interact with me and my music. I always tried to collaborate with other brands and creatives. I find That is the best way to grow your fan base. I’ve worked with several clothing brands so they can help share my influence.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
One thing that helped build my reputation is valuing quality over quantity. I see a lot of creators trying to get out as much content as they can to keep up with the consumer demand, but they never think about the detail or quality of the content they are putting out. Over time, I realized its not about how much you produce, it’s about the quality of the product that you are supplying. This mindset has kept me from making rash decisions when it comes to releasing content whether it be music or a collaboration with a brand
