We were lucky to catch up with Shubhi Aggarwal recently and have shared our conversation below.
Shubhi, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How do you think about vacations as a business owner? Do you take them and if so, how? If you don’t, why not?
Yes Of course, Key to a successful business is a healthy and innovative mind; for that it is very important to take few days off work and re-energize yourself.

Shubhi, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a corporate trainer, training people on Microsoft tools like MS Excel, Power BI, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint. The core of my work is data analysis, I provide training sessions keeping in mind the industry of participants and as per that what data they would need to analyze. It’s been 8th year in a row that Microsoft has recognized me as a certified trainer for it’s softwares.
Apart from providing trainings, I help my clients to process their raw data and bring out information out of it. This information helps them to take important decisions. For new graduates, I provide them training on how data will look like when they enter the real world and thus they get prepared for interviews and their jobs ahead.
What makes me different from all the other players in same industry is that all my sessions are customized, I spend time studying client requirement and their business, then accordingly build up my data scenarios, which works as simulation during my training and thus, my session becomes more practical and relatable experience.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
My best source has been word of mouth. My clients talk about my work with their friends and then their friends would connect with me for work. Sometimes an employee whom I would have been dealing with would leave their current company and join somewhere else, then they recommend me in their new company. This is how the chain goes on and the network keeps expanding. So actually I just have to consistently provide good work and it automatically fetch me clients.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
In my college days, I read Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. This fable tells you to follow your dreams, that is what inspires me. Whatever hurdles came in my life, ups and downs, I never gave up on my one dream, which I still stick on to that I have to be the best in the industry. To stay where I am and also to rise high, continuous improvement is required so I learn each day and try to make myself a tad better.
