We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kelly Morgan a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Kelly, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

One of the projects that meant the most significant to me was going to Malibu… to record with producer 7 Aurelius. It was amazing… He is a Grammy award winning producer it was eye opening to me. it was my first time having to learn a record on the spot and what it takes to be able to do that . I really found beauty in the experience . We recorded a song called ” I remember ” you can check it out on the website : https://www.stepyourfameup.com/ . I was so happy to be able to have that happen to me!!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Kelly is a young POP/R&B singer from Atlanta , GA. Kelly had a breakthrough performance on Showtime At The Apollo on FOX in 2018 which reached 1.3 million viewers. She has also performed at New York Fashion Week at Sony Hall 2022 . She has appeared on Fox’s Emmy Award-winning T.V show called Teen Kids News (2019 & 2021). Kelly also received her first Time Square Billboard in NYC on September 26th! She also opened for Ashanti & Ja Rule twice and was recently followed by Ariana Grande on Twitter. Her song ” I Wanna Fall In Love (REMIX) was featured in Rolling Stone Magazine 2021. Kelly says her motto is “big dreams & a big heart to follow.” She recently opened up the WNBA Atlanta Dream game with the National Anthem. As far as her songwriting, “I want my music to touch someone — for them to be able to say hey I can relate to that story let me spread it around to everyone who can relate as well.” Music was an escape and a means to cope with bullying at an early age.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

I want my music to reach the masses , I want it to touch every single person who comes in contact with it , the same way music touched me when I first heard it , gravitated towards it and held on to it <3 . Also my grandmother even though she is no longer here with me she drives me through the teachings she had taught me and the promise we made each other that one day I would make it if i worked hard and just keep singing.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?

Give artist Grace and also…. support their music , their cause. alot of hard work goes into it :) by streaming , sharing and telling mutual friends about the artist you know and like :)
