Ingrid , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My goal is to show people how beautiful they are through my lens. I love capturing special moments for my clients, so they will have photographs to share with loved ones.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Photography is my passion. Living in Louisiana gives me so many beautiful and exciting things to photograph, but what I love most is capturing the beauty of people. I do portraits of families, graduates, weddings, concerts and events. I do it all, because I love meeting new people and capturing their memories.
One of my favorite things to photograph is high school graduates. You can see them blossoming into a young adult and wanting to show the world who they really are. When the shoot begins, they may be a little shy, but by the last shot you can see how their confidence has grown. And I know that I have taken the perfect shot.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I discovered my love for photography later in life. I bought my first camera while on a business trip in Nova Scotia because I wanted to capture the picturesque views of the lighthouses and Atlantic Ocean at sunset. When I returned home, I took a class under wildlife photographer, Amy Shutt. She nurtured my photography and taught me that although photography equipment can be expensive, it is important to learn to use what you have to your best ability.
Since then, I have I have taken my camera everywhere I go. As a music lover, my photography skills have allowed me to photograph some of my favorite musical artist such as Trombone Shorty, Janet Jackson, Tank and the Bangas, Method Man, Lauren Hill and Little Kim. I am most proud of the work I have done with Essence Music, Festival, New Orleans Jazz Festival and Blues Festival. My goal is to continue to work with musical artist, doing more portraits and concerts. I can’t wait to see where my camera will take me next.
As a creative, I am happy when my client is happy. I relish those moments when we are both in love with their images. I also find it important for my clients to print their images. Photos should not be left on your computer screen, there should be photos of your family and friends throughout your home. So, I have researched the best archival silk prints and wall art for my clients, so they will have the best artwork to hand down throughout generations of their families.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I receive so much joy and opportunity from photography. I started out 10 years ago, begging my friends Kim and Shennell to allow me to photograph them. Now, I am hired to do the thing that I love. Once I realized I had this God given gift, I wanted to use it to show people how beautiful they really are through God’s view. in my way, I feel like I am doing His work.
I want my clients to have an experience when photographing with me. I was hired to do a shoot at a swamp house. It required me to get on a boat and ride through the swamps of Louisiana, however, I am afraid of water and snakes. But it turned out to be one of the most beautiful and peaceful experiences of my life. Most recently I was asked to capture a couple going on a balloon ride. It was definitely a thrill- seeking adventure. I had just a few minutes to capture them, before and after the ride, but it really was amazing. and more importantly, my client loved her photos.
