Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jamie Musacchio. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jamie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The world is changing faster than ever, why isn’t education evolving with it? And more importantly, with all the knowledge we have now, why are children still falling behind in traditional school systems. These are the questions I kept asking myself before I opened Wisdom Warehouse. Everyday I saw children suffering while learning and even further, teachers suffering in a career they weren’t happy in. That’s when I took the leap. My goal was to create a space where the teaching inspired a love of learning, as well as, creating confident, happy kids. Wisdom Warehouse offers non-traditional schooling and tutoring options that are fully based on engaging children and bringing skills and standards to life. We offer workshops and camps that promote creative thinking focusing on topics are not taught in schools. This approach resonated with the many parents that did not have options for their children or wanted to give them a different educational experience.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have always been in the education sector, but I knew a traditional teaching career was not my path. When building Wisdom Warehouse’s physical spaces, I was simultaneously building a The Wisdom Warehouse Way, an exclusive curriculum that we use with our students. I have been able to impact a far greater amount of children through Wisdom Warehouse, with a team of teachers using the Wisdom Warehouse Way, I could scale my goal in a far greater way than I would have being a classroom teacher. There are no other educational centers like Wisdom Warehouse. Wisdom Warehouse is a special gem in this industry that truly is centered around giving students, parents and teachers a completely positive experience in the education sector.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Wisdom Warehouse began as just a tutoring center. It was actually the parents who asked for us to offer a schooling option for their children. Then, they wanted camps during the summer and creative options. With this, our business model had to completely change. The curriculum was updated and changed. Hours of operation and teachers roles also had to be redefined. Also listen to client though, because Wisdom Warehouse would not be what it is today without them sharing their wants with us.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Word of mouth and referrals! Moms talk and love to recommend great experiences with their friends. We realized that if we continue keeping our quality high and standing out from competitors, our clients will do the marketing for us in a completely natural way.
